Hello @qtldev,
While your app looks great, I would be VERY reluctant to use it!
- I do not see any valid reason to provide my owner key
- As it also requires the active key, the code should be open-sourced or at least fully auditable.
When dealing with crypto, security comes first before utility.
This said, great to have more passions devs in our ecosystem. I wish you all the best.
Owner key is not required and I don't think it will ever be..that's why it is a disabled textbox in the images. It will be removed before the app is released. Secondly, I agree about security and I am adding the option for users to encrypt the key with a password when the app is first used..but they will have to enter the pass everytime they open the app because that will not be stored. That's the best I'll be able to do for assurances.
Not enough to me on a security/trust point of view.
Who knows how secure your encryption is and what your app will do with the key.
Only an audit of the code could remove this uncertainty.
Sorry to say, but I have no reason to trust you, as you should have none to trust me.
I am the creator of the cryptocurrency exchange app, QuatlooTrader, that I released in 2015. 1000's of people used and still use it for trading in the many cryptocurrency exchanges like Poloniex, Bittrex , and others. some people then had the same concerns as they had to enter their private api keys into the application to use it. there has never been anyone to suggest there ever was any dishonesty with that app and it is still used today! Its a judgement call, but i'm not just some nobody coming out of the woodwork without any reputation. All that being said, I understand your concern.
