luke, thanks for articulating this so well.
To supplement and perhaps provide an alternative view, I would also like to say that whilst new users are important, they don't necessarily all have to be authors. Further, people posting should as luke say, align their expectation of rewards, with the perception of quality determined by the community. It is easy to want users to stay on the platform, but upvoting posts which do not deserve the reward is not the answer.
In this regard, it is not the fault of the users entirely, but could very well be a shortcoming of the current user experience of the platform. I frequently ask my self the question why it is I post on WeChat, and so does 1.5 billion other people in China? Yes there are financial incentives, but for more than 99% of people, it is simply a useful tool to stay connected with friends and family, whilst creating opportunities to make new friends and efficiently engage with them.
In this sense, I think progress should be made on both fronts, (and I believe they are) for the value of steem as a whole to grow. Initiatives such as the sevenfingers are welcome, but maybe ultimate goal shouldn't be just to onboard anybody and everybody.
thank you for the great attention you have given. Your suggestions are also a good thing for sevenfingers. we hope that with this community will spur the spirit of steemian not only to pursue rewards but also to awaken them. that a post that can be made well deserves to get rewards. that's why sevenfingers are born, to give appreciation to them and also help each other.
steemian growth is very fast. the right knowledge and start with the right path of concern to sevenfingers come into the facility for those who want to succeed by consistently making something nice.
community projects will not work if there is no attention from great people like you @lukestokes @sweetsssj. Thank you for your attention.
