Some Background on Me
Hello, Steemit! Glad to finally be here! I'm Parker, a music producer in and from Homer, Alaska.
I taught myself piano at 8 years old, and then guitar at 12, and now, over the past year or so, I've taught myself how to use digital audio workstations and digitally produce music. Homer is an incredibly artistic town; you can't go 10 feet without meeting a writer, painter, or someone who creates something special and unique, so as I got more involved in the music community, I started to see all of these wonderful musicians around the town that lacked the equipment, knowledge, and experience to actually produce and/or publish their own music, and decided to learn how to do it for them.
A majority of my time is spent creating music for other people, and helping them sequence and produce their own tracks, but I really enjoy creating my own tracks. I haven't quite isolated my sound just yet, but it seems to be an ambient type of hip hop, with some 80's elements as well. Regardless, I try to do something completely new every time I make a song.
So What's the Next Step?
At the moment, I just make cool beats and post them on SoundCloud, not really anything special. However, the quality of what I make is getting exponentially better. I've been trying to start to get myself out there and begin to build a good foundation for my hobby that I hope to turn into a profession. Through the help from this site, and hours upon hours of hard work, I plan to share my creations with a populous that will appreciate and support my songs. If all goes well, I might start to build an incredibly rudimentary income from this site so I can buy more equipment and tools to help the quality and workflow of my music, but I'm not going to set my expectations very high. Instead, I'm just going to appreciate the feedback and input I will hopefully receive. As I said before, there's a lot of opportunities in Homer for amazing collaborations, and I plan on capturing the essence of a lot of other wonderful musicians I know in Homer and sharing it with the world.
Wellcome, and good luck with your music 😊
