My introduction Steemit post as backpacking-asad

in #introduceyourself7 years ago (edited)

Hi Steemians, my name is Asad and I'm a backpacker. I heard about steemit a couple of days ago and instantly loved the idea. Now a want to become a part of the steemit community.

Born and raised in Germany, I chose the typical way. I went to school, did my Bachelors, my Masters and am now working as an IT-Consultant. However, that’s not really who I entirely am. Eight months of the year I work, pay my taxes and play by the rules. The other four months I follow my passion which is backpacking.

I first got the travel bug when I was 25 and went to a village in Ghana for 3 months to teach English and maths. I ended up having the most memorable time in my life. Seeing how little the people there have and how they nevertheless smile and appreciate every little thing made me realize that life cannot just be about working and going after the almighty money…

After that I decided to travel every year for at least 3 to 6 months. I wanted to visit different countries, learn about their history and culture, meet locals and see what I can do in order to help if needed. Initially, I thought that I would stop travelling as soon as I had gotten to 50 countries. Now that I have reached almost 50 I still don’t feel like stopping. The world is so big and there is so much more to see and learn that I raised the bar to 100 countries.

As backpacking-asad I would love to share some of my travel stories, introduce you to some people I met during travelling and share some pictures.

I will give my best to deliver some valuable content that you will enjoy! Thanks for reading this and I hope we read from each other again.

Hello Asad,

Welcome to Steemit! You will love it all. This is a unique place where there is no competition. Instead, we all work together to help each other. The best way to grow is to have enough Steem Power and vote to reward other authors.

It is important to produce good content in a continuous way so you can grow.

A suggestion would be take your time to look for posts that interest you and promote them. Also, start by following the authors who publish good content and vote for them.

I wish you much success if you need help, let me know!

I'm following you as well.

Best Regards, @juniorifoj

Wow I love your introduction and I love your lifestyle @backpacking-asad :) Very inspiring, I've always dreamed to be like you, I think I still have the time to go for it! How many years do you have as backpacking? Blessings.

Thank you @johaghersi! I'm flattered! Well I started to travel in 2005 and do a backpacking trip every year. Depending how much vacation I get from work (3-6 month). I dunno what exactly in the region where you live in Venezuela is, but isn't it possible for you to travel as well? In case you need any tips or ideas about countrys.... let me know!

OK so you have around 13 years as a backpacking, that's great! I live in the capital, Caracas, and I was born in Los Teques, a small town near Caracas. Well it's hard the economical situation in Venezuela, that's why I haven't got the chance to travel. I'm saving money to start traveling this year. Thank you so much! Of course I'll need some tips hehe ;)
