Hi everyone, Balourdos here, the gentleman wearing a hat on the left. I am new to PEAKD so please forgive me already if there are some formatting issues. I have decided to post on the suggestion of my friend @stoodkev. He has been involved in the Hive blockchain community for quite a while now and it seemed to be a great way to document the adventure we are going to undertake. More on this later, first let me briefly introduce myself.
I am French and just got 37 aging like a good French wine or cheese. I have been living in Taiwan for the last 7 years.
So i have decided with two of my best friends that i know for more than ten years, @stoodkev and @jordan-tainan, to take part in a rickshaw run in Sri Lanka, organized by The Adventurists. We participate with 40 other teams. It's not really a race as there is no winner and the itinerary is up to us to decide on the itinerary. I think it's a great and unique way to discover a country. We had already our share of adventures in other countries in Asia, but that was in scooter or motorcycle. This time we will at least be able to share the ride and the fun.
We were planning to do this in 2020 but Covid got in between. We are now finally ready and on the starting line. The run starts tomorrow, I can't wait to finally be kn the road. Meanwhile we had the chance to already try our mount for the next 7 days after a short briefing and it will definitely be fun. Even if I am used to driving motorcycle this is really different. I think the most difficult part will be to stay on the left side on the road though... I d like to conclude by specifying that all the money generated through these posts will be given to the CoolEarth charity, which aims at making our Earth a little bit greener. Thanks for reading us and more info on our trip very soon!

Being next to him in our shared office, i can confirm that he is often on duty sweating and fixing!
Glad one knows him. Often we "usernames" are taken for "granted" and as virtual as we can appear ...we are not. Wishing him as much fun as he does help so many of us! Hope to meet both of you around a meetup here or there ! @hivebelgium

Hello @balourdos95! This is @traciyork from the @ocd (Original Content Decentralized) curation team. We noticed you shared your first post here on Hive and introduced yourself to the community - congratulations and welcome!
Speaking of community, we have many different ones here on the blockchain, devoted to all kinds of interests. Here's a link so you can check them all out - Hive Communities. Based on what you've shared, I think you'll find these interesting to start off with -

Also, as Hive can sometimes be quite confusing, the newly launched Newbies Guide should be helpful to you, as it is a growing repository of useful and easy to understand posts about how the Hive ecosystem works. For instance, there's a post in the collection called 3 things Newbies should do in their first week on Hive that you might find helpful.
Please be aware that Hive is a bit different from other social media platforms since you are monetizing your blog, so it is important not to include content that you don't own without sources (and it shouldn't exceed 50% of the post). For more information, check this post - Why and How People Abuse and Plagiarise by hivewatchers.
I'm sure @stoodkev will continue to help you as you begin your Hive journey, but if you have any questions, feel free to hop into the OCD Discord server and we'll do our best to answer them, and again welcome to Hive!
For me (living in England at the time) it was initially less difficult to drive on the left – the surprise came when I wanted to get back on the road from the petrol station and found that the wretched traffic was always coming from the wrong direction.😮😮
👍
hi, so you are from @stoodkev and not another fake account by @jnmarteau ?
