THE BEGINNING: MY INTRODUCTORY BLOG

Hello brothers and sisters! Just call me @batanggwapo.

I’m from the northern mountainous part of the province of Cebu, Philippines. I’m 26 and currently a public servant of my beloved country.

Family Background

I grew up educated by the irons of life, trained by extreme responsibilities and jabbed with my obsession with measurements. My father is an electrician, container-van driver-mechanic. My uncles are plumbers, welders, technicians, carpenters, mason, sawyers, bamboo-mat makers, and charcoal-makers. My older brothers are forklift operator, electrician, welder and mechanic.

All of these are undeniably hard jobs but they all manage to endure for their respective families. I, on my part, strives to finish my schooling to somehow find any respectable job so I can help my father. My mother is a banig maker (bed sheet made from the leaves of a palm tree), cap maker, mananahi (cloth-sewer), a native bread vendor ( like salbaro, bibingka and puto – cassava-made bread). Witnessing all these influences me to be passionate in life, to finish my schooling and acquire stable jobs; and which makes my passion related to them.

About Myself

As my house is situated in mountainous side beside a river quite far from highways, I commonly encounter lizards, spiders, scorpions, leeches, various snakes, and other bugs and so, I am not scared of these animals venomous or not. With my buddy Bongkol (my dog’s name) who lately passed away due to poison, we always team-up in catching snakes, monitor lizards, wild chickens, bird eggs (buntog), tree snails (takdong) and climb trees for fruits and veges like, coconut, sugarcane, bamboo shoot (dabong), guavas, tamarind (sambag), ube, An-an (An-An Tree), and other wild plants which can be eaten as meals. Using hand-catapult (tirador), We manage to catch birds which later on barbequed. We sometimes enter caves just to sleep for a moment, drink from a well and bath together on the river.

I truly miss these adventures with my Bongkol. He is an amazing dog. Trustworthy, loyal and helpful. He is my alarm on strangers, to our preys and my best friend at all times. He even holds the rope of my kite when I was a kid. I never acquire another dog since his death.

By the year 2015, I passed the DOST-SEI scholarship and happily made into college level. When I was in college, lots of things change my life spiritually, emotionally and psychologically.

By 2019, I passed the licensure examination and by then my real life started. When the pandemic stroked, I was at my hometown unemployed. And in order to aid the expenses at home on meals and bills, I applied as a painter at my alma mater, I do sideline as a basket-sewer, electrician or technician and during Monday, Wednesday and Saturday I work as a motorcycle-driver (habal-habal driver) without driver’s license. I do simple neighborhood repairs on appliances like DVD’s, radios, amplifiers and microphones. I earned a few sums and blessed to buy one female goat by the end of 2020.

My Hobbies

My hobbies are reading about conspiracy books, history and astronomy, math and puzzle books and jokes; and books related to cooking, herbal medicines and farming animals. Reading adds my wisdom in talking or dealing with people. My classmates call me “Einstein” because I wear glasses and always talks to books but honestly, I’m not that nerd one.

15.jpg

My heart’s passion is carpentry both house and furniture. I love making chairs, tables, cabinets, chicken, cow and pig coops. I also make speaker boxes, and sound system racks. I have also tried building a tree-house on a Tambis Tree where I sometime eat, sleep and read day time or night time. Applying math most of the time, attending mass on different churches to balance my belief, treatment and actions towards other people makes me nice to everyone. Doing all these day after day everyday fulfills my unemployed life back then. I am not fond with dealing with women. I am clumsy when it comes to women. So I spend most of my time reading, farming, exploring mountains and grasslands, and travelling; and working day and night.

Since I already graduated college, I assists my neighbors on their assignments and projects. I am happily teaching them things about the cities, telling them jokes, math, brainteasers, and poems (balak). And now, in exchange of my beloved dog, I rarely play with my male goat Bongkol (same name with my dog).
Now, I am a public servant, I am happily serving my countrymen with open arms. Whenever my capabilities and skills are needed, duty calls, I volunteered willingly and passionately.

Seven suggestions to consider:

  1. Guard your passwords carefully, and only publish with the posting key,
  2. Use your active key only for wallet transactions, Keychain, Peaklock, and Hivesigner,
  3. The master password and the owner key are only used to reset compromised passwords,
  4. DO NOT lose your password or keys; copy and store offline,
  5. Do not publish other people's work, be it photos or written, without credit, and be sure to source all of your work, even if it is your own.
  6. An introduceyourself tag is used only once , and
  7. DO NOT OPEN any links in memos or comments that you do not know who they belong to. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is, so the old saying goes. There is nothing free here.

I found you because @brittandjosie and @jamerussell from @heyhaveyamet presented and promoted your publication to get more exposure and help you grow faster.

If you find yourself overwhelmed and need some guidance, or if you have any questions, there are informed Hiveans available who can help you; you can click to go to The Terminal in Discord here:

Welcome on Hive!

Hello! Welcome to Hive, @batanggwapo. I found you thanks to @heyhaveyamet 's introduction post.
You've come to a wonderful place where you can develop any interest you can think of. The limit is up to you!
The learning curve is steep at first, but ask any questions you have, read and observe.
Here are some resources to help you get started:
Link to The Terminal Discord server, highly recommended for learning anything about Hive and @heyhaveyamet 's home.
Link to Ecency's Discord server, my favourite frontend and where you can find me most of the time.
Link to the Ecency resource library, where I'm adding practical tutorials in Spanish and some are in English, too.
Little by little you will find the places where you feel most comfortable, get in touch with other hivers and success will come.
Greetings from Spain. 🤗

Thanks mam 🧡
