My Introduction

Hello all

This is my first ever piece done of @jakeybrownThis is my first post on Steemit, my son @jakeybrown recommended I join this site with the purpose of displaying the pieces I finish in my main hobby. I customize sports action figures into whatever player I get orders for. This is a hobby I happened upon about 12 years ago and it has been growing ever since. As a young lad growing up on a farm in a small town in northern Montana, in the 1960's-1970's (yes I am an old guy), there wasn't a lot to do. I enjoyed Hot Wheels, action figure toys and building models. As a got older, these hobbies fell by the wayside and I went to high school, college, started a family and life. Well, as life progressed, one of my children, the aforementioned @jakeybrown, had a massive infatuation with Transformer toys, but unfortunately for him, it was towards the end of their first run in the early 1990s. well, as a doting father, i began tracking down transformer toys at little stores in the middle of no-where, etc. this got me into toy collecting again, which lead me back to building models. then in 2005 I saw an article in a magazine of someone making these customized sports figurines.

Well, my son was now a high school athlete so I figured I could make one of him. this lead to me making one for each of the seniors on his football team and from there, I began getting requests for pieces.

Long story short, this is now a full time hobby with a lot of back orders that I try to do in my spare time. Its fun and I find it very satisfying when I complete each one. This hobby is the best of my past hobbies. There are toys (Action figures), painting and decaling involved (model building), not having to keep them all to be a clutter (I already have that anyway) but the best part is the joy the recipients get when seeing an action figure of themselves. I try to limit my work to high school and college athletes.

A little personal information, I have lived in Montana for 56 of my 59 years, and love it here. I have two wonderful children and an awesome granddaughter , Mila Claire

I am also a bit of a craft beer snob and am heavily into sampling new craft beers, so expect some posts about beer.

Hey dad, nice first post!

Looks like you pretty much have it down, I bet people would enjoy some step by steps of your models and you take on the different beers you try out.
