Hi Steemit! Want to Help Me Build a New Crypto Device?

in #introduceyourself7 years ago

What's Up, Steemit?

My name is Jon, possibly one of the biggest technology/cryptocurrency geeks you’ll find. I am 24 years old, and originally from the Chicago area. I graduated with a degree in Computer Science at Illinois State University. I am fairly skilled in the App/Web  Development field. Lately, however, I have been spending time learning  Blockchain and Smart Contract Development. Today, I am located in the  Northern Michigan area and am currently doing full-stack web development work.

Ever since I can remember, I have been obsessed with trying to invent “the next big thing”. In college, I was always known as the “idea guy”,  coming up with new crazy tech ideas, which is still my big strength  today.  However, in college, I didn’t know how to execute on these ideas.

Execution Over Ideas

It goes without saying that execution is way more important than the idea. Gary Vaynerchuk explains it really well in this article. Through all my obsessive amounts of book reading, exploration, and research I always came to the same conclusion of the one thing I was missing: feedback.

I believe that the successful execution of an idea is built upon a  feedback-driven process. Honest feedback is created from another’s perception of value. Bringing true value to others is what makes an idea successful.

“An idea sparks a flame. Feedback adds fuel to it. Let’s see how big this fire can get.”

My Thoughts About Steemit

When I discovered Steemit I was blown away. I realized I could get honest feedback on my ideas from the community, and the community would get paid giving me that feedback. It's a win-win.

Where You Come In

Want to help me build a new crypto device? I've had this idea for a while for a cryptocurrency storage device. I'm seeking feedback from the community to see if it's a good idea. My goal is to create this new device, built upon the feedback of the community. Make sure to subscribe to @Bitzerk for progress on the device creation! I will be posting often to get constructive feedback from the community.

What is "Bitzerk"?

Bitzerk is my company name. It's a play-on-words between "Bitcoin" and "Berserk".

What Do I Hope to Accomplish?

Most importantly, I hope to get honest and constructive feedback on my product idea. Any money made through my Steemit profile will 100% be used to create my product. I have my own money set aside to start making this idea into a reality, but I think it would be cool to try and create something which is backed by the community.

Check Out My Site

You can also stay updated on my website bitzerk.com.  The website is a work in progress, and I just launched it a few days ago (feel free to give me feedback on it!). Make sure you also check out the welcome page, to get a better sense of who I am and what I hope to accomplish.

Stay Tuned for the First Post About the Device Idea!

Nice post! I like the motivation. This post makes us look forward to know more about your ideas.

Are you thinking of something to compete with Nano Ledger and Trezor?

I've always wondered whether some sort of hard wallet within a banks security vault would be of interest. I cant imagine its comfortable potentially having millions of dollars worth of crypto on stick in your house. Maybe it would be nicer, if you could store a ledger in some sort of security vault that you can access remotely.

It would have to be cold storage unless you were using it though, otherwise whats the point?

I'm not sure how it should be marketed yet, which is why I'm all-in with the idea of getting good feedback from the community. How does the community imagine it being used?

And yes, it is a crypto storage device. It's a quite simple device actually, and it's non-electronic. I think if it was marketed the correct way it can get a lot of traction. Stay tuned, I will post a detailed explanation within the next few days!

WELCOME TO STEEMIT, @BITZERK! You are right, the community is the best thing about Steemit :) The money is nice of course, but I am really glad about the experience and I hope you'll enjoy your time here as well! Looking forward to reading from you!
