Greetings Steemians! I am Brenda E. Novack—scholar, theologian, author, traveller, psychic medium, spirit worker, certified holistic health practitioner, and mystic. My educational and experiential background covers a range of subjects including history, philosophy, theology, spirituality, ethics, holistic health, and death (specifically near-death experiences).
My interest in writing emerged at an early age when I began to create poetry as a child; however, I did not produce a significant written output until I began studying at university. I published my first book entitled, A Double-Edged Sword: Jehanne d'Arc and Claims to Divine Sanction in Acts of War, in 2014. The work forms an in-depth study of Jehanne d'Arc (Joan of Arc), Nazi resister Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and Adolf Hitler in the context of claims to divinely sanctioned violence, and warfare in particular. My second book, published in 2017, derives from my experience backpacking across northern Spain on the ancient pilgrimage route known as the Camino de Santiago de Compostela; The Camino: A Walking Meditation; Images and Reflections, is a photographic and philosophical work.
I am a natural writer and always feel that I am in my element while writing. There are many subjects that I still intend to write about, and I am pleased to be a member of the Steemit community where I can share my work and enjoy the talent of other writers as well. It is sure to be a mutually enriching experience!
