Hello, Steemit!
I am excited to become part of this community, as I like the way that it rewards everyone that contributes and the technology which it is backed by the blockchain.
About Me:
My name is Conor, I am 16. I am an aspiring developer with 6 languages under my belt so far. These are PHP, Python, HTML, JS, CSS & Visual Basic (.net).
I thoroughly enjoy programming and spend a vast majority of my time doing it, I have also created a few open-source libraries and contributed to other projects. Can't say a lot of it is open source as I only have one useful open source library. If you want to see it, see my GitHub: (https://github.com/Snaddyvitch-Dispenser)
(Nothing Impressive, I Know). I haven't written/contributed much to Open-Source, but I have an array of finished and unfinished closed source code, mainly in PHP and Python.
My Story:
I started programming at the age of nine, back in 2010, with Visual Basic, I remember just searching for how to do something, I can't remember what, but it lead me to find out about Visual Basic (2008 at the time), where I made some (no longer existing) programs, they have been lost due to bad backup habits which I am now trying to fix as I write this.
My next language (about 2 years later) was Python, which is my favourite multi-purpose programming language. Shortly after this, I decided to learn HTML, CSS and Javascript, as I started to create basic web apps. My most recent language is PHP, which I am currently using to build a platform for price suggestions for a game that I like.
As you may have noticed, I said that I was making a web app for a game I liked, this shows one of my other interests, Gaming, particularly PC Gaming, which is another way I like to kill time.
IDE's (Programming Environments) Of Choice: (In case you wondered)
Web - Wamp & PHPStorm 2017.3 & PDO (For Database Access
PHP - PHPStorm 2017.3
Python - Python IDLE 2.7.x
.Net - VS Community 2017
Generic - Notepad ++
SQL - DataGrip 2017.2.3
What I hope to do:
I hope that I can be a useful asset to this community, and I am planning to write some tutorials about programming on this platform and whatever else comes to mind.
Also, the coders among you may have noticed the Hello, Steemit! introduction, and recognised that it is like the introductory code for most programming languages, the defacto standard program for a first-timer, Hello, World!, this is because I wish to make tutorials on the platform, and thought that would be a good first line ^_^.
I hope that you can get something out of this post, and hope to write more soon.
~ Conor
