Hi Steemit, I'm Carolina Sousa and I'm a journalist

Hello eveyone. I'm Carolina Sousa and I'm 24 years old. I currently live in London and I study media and communications. I'm originally from Madeira, which is a small beautiful island located in Portugal.

I have to admit, writing about myself is quite the challenge, mainly because the self awareness that it implies  brings up an existencial dread similar to the one brought about by contemplating death and my finite existence. I also believe that there is a universe of complexity in each person that not even the best writers in the world are able to put into paper.

Nevertheless, I will try.

I've lived in Madeira until I had to go to university in Lisbon, when I was 18 years old. There, I studied english literature. Unfortunately, maybe because I missed madeira's nature and I missed my friends, it was hard to adapt to the harshness of a capital city.

I particularly missed my best friend, the woman you see in the picture. This was taken one summer I visited home.

After a little more than one year, I went to a small town in the north of Portugal called Braga. I studied there for three years and worked for one more. I became very attached to that place, the friends that I made there, my apartment and my things. I became especially close with my flatmate: the constant laughs and our common anti-social behaviour towards our course mates were things that brought us together a lot.

However, I decided to come to London to join my best friend and her partner (they have been living here for a few years now) to pursue a career in media, and overall built a better life for myself. Fortunately, my boyfriend, that I met in Braga, was able to join me, so we are a family now. I'm living with the most important people in my life. Also, no more sharing bathrooms with people I don't know. Ufff!

Aaaaand this is me now:
