A small holiday in paradise
After a few weeks of exams, me and two close friends both @callumcampbell and @roberthart decided to go on a small road trip to Jeffreys Bay located in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. Because i own a holiday house there, we decided it would be practical, inexpensive and fun at the same time. Despite the house being rented out before and there being no furniture or beds, we decided to go anyways. Along with our music, booze, food, fire wood and good company, we had everything we needed for a relaxing day.
Jeffrey's Bay is a very small place with a barefoot vibe to it. It is very popular among surfers who come to compete in competitions around the world. The people are very friendly and the streets are rather quiet which allows for ultimate relaxation in the evenings. The house we stayed at was located in a section of Jeffreys Bay called paradise beach. The entrance to Paradise beach has a melodious atmosphere.
As soon as we got there, @roberthart was very adamant to start drinking stating that he "wants to get very drunk tonight". After a full three beers later and a "headache" as he proclaimed, he hit the sack at about 11:00 p.m. @callumcampbell and myself however, decided to stay up a bit longer drinking, talking and throwing the occasional sock at @roberthart while he was sleeping.
Here is a picture of a bridge known as the Van Stadens bridge, as you can see there is protective fencing on the sides. This is because the bridge is popular for suicides, there have been many people in the past that have jumped off the bridge. If you look even closer, you might see the cameras there too for the same reason.
You might notice the aftermath of a fire in the following picture. This is because, about a week or two ago many fires started in South Africa for reasons not yet known. These fires destroyed many homes, wild-life, schools, and even killed a couple of people as well.
On the way back, we stopped for a good breakfast and coffee and were all ready to start our hour drive home. Although the drive was fairly short, we were blessed with many beautiful sightings of nature. Here are the pictures i took on the way back:
Despite the trip being only one day long, i was able to reach ultimate relaxation which i really needed. Sometimes its the small things you share with people you are close to that matter the most.
