When you first find out youβre going to be a parent you are flooded with emotion. I found myself I started to envision what it will be like and tried to plan out different scenarios in my head and just how I would tackle them. Then my firstborn came and I realized it wasnβt quite like I had planned. Not in a bad way but there are lots that the books donβt tell you about.
This is a subject that one can go deep into and tumble down many different avenues but I just wanted to talk about the various situations that catch you off guard.
Just yesterday my daughter who is 14 months old, was just playing away when out of nowhere just tumbles down and bumps her head. She of course just loses it and I go to her side to calm her down. She is a bit clumsy and very curious right now so this is pretty usual. But this time she looked up at me with a goofy look in her face, almost as if she just wanted to let me know sheβs alright and went right back to playing only to fall again.
It has been funny to watch her little personality poke through day by day. This was something I never really thought much about going into being a parent but now having two kids itβs these slight differences that shine a light in my life and reminds me just how amazing my children are. I know everyone says that about their kids!
This was just something I thought I would share. How about the rest of you on Steemit? Has there been anything that has caught you off guard as a parent? Any moments that swept your heart away?
Haha i did a whole week of mom stories at the beginning of my steemit adventure. It was a lot of fun to share the memories and hear other peoples moments! Just yesterday my baby girl decided she could drink her bottle as it set upright on her high chair tray. She just leans over and starts to suckle and looks at me crazy when im laughing! I love the personality that starts to show through as they become tiny people and not just a gassy bundle!
Good luck with the topsy turvy days mama!
Haha, so beautiful. It is truly heart warming to catch the little things that make up these wonderful little beings. Thank you for sharing!

Both of my children are in their mid-late 20's now. What stands out to me the most, was the moment I held my oldest in the delivery room.
That very moment they handed him to me, the way I looked at the world completely changed.
Your kids are beautiful and it really is amazing as a parent to watch them grow!
Thank you for sharing. It's truly amazing the whole experience. I remember in the delivery room that time stood still and all I could think about was this is its! Thank you so much for sharing!
Thanks for posting this. I have two boys that are trying at times. Parents need to encourage each other. I enjoy reading your husband's posts as well... fitness nerd^^
Yeah, even my little two get to be much at times but then they do something that just lights up my world. Thank you, he's actually the one that turned me on to this. He kept asking me to help show him to build his little banner he has. He gave me a little tour and at first I wasn't too sure because I am not really into the whole social media thing too much but Steemit has a nice twist to it. From what I seen from his posts and the response from the community too is everyone is so friendly and nice.
Awwa that is so cute. I used to babysit my nieces and nephews. Each of them were very different. It's awesome to see them develop over time! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for the kind words. Yeah its amazing to see them grow and then to think back to different times when I was younger, thinking did I do that! Hahaha, more and more I am finding myself becoming my parents. I always laughed at the idea but its more true than ever. Thank you for taking the time to check my post out, I really appreciate it!

All the best to you....I will look for your posts. I enjoy hearing about family life and parenting. I'm a grandmother now, but I still love the little ones.
Yeah these two are my little ttroublemakers Haha, they arn't too bad actually but yeah both of them were born with a full head of hair and my daughters is growing so fast.
The photos are from both my mom and I. Photography has always been a huge interest of mine, as well as my mom. Something we have grew together doing. I will definitely try using those as well. Thank you so much for the information. I am still trying to figure things out and my husband has his page so I learn what I can from him. He's still new to the whole thing as well but I really do appreciate the information.
My husband and I are on steemit too - and it's helpful to share info back and forth and edit each other's posts.
My husband is @johnjgeddes, a writer. What is your husband's platform?
Hahaha totally, lately I have been so wrapped up with getting ready for the holidays and battling this cold so researching everything has really consisted of me bugging him but he doesn't mind. He does a general kind of blog but mainly wants to focus on fitness. In the coming year, he's going to get back on track with everything and wants to post about it all. He is @fitnessnerd
I'll look for his blog too. Hope you feel better. Have a lovely Christmas!!
