In your headline you wrote that you rent SP for 40% APR. What does that mean?
And how much will you pay on a daily basis for 1,000 SP?

40 % APR means that you will get 40% of the amount lent in terms of interest after 1 year.
Since you may not believe me that I will pay back in 1 year (and the lease period may not coincide with 1 year) I reduce your risk by making daily automatic payouts of 40%/365=0.1096% per day (so you do not have to wait a year for your reward and you may retract the lease if I do not pay). For a 1000 SP that would be a 1000*0.001096= 1.096 SP per day.
What the statement does not say is that I do not need a 1000 SP right now. A comfortable amount for me is from 25 to 150 SP. The time period is ambiguous right now: I'm not sure when I would like to stop, but it will not be less than a month. I will send you a message (as a comment and in transactions) when I will want to stop the lease (about a week before the date) and automatic payments. You then should retract the loan at that date. If you retract the loan earlier - the payments are going to stop automatically right away. Feel free to do it if you want to stop the lease for any reason.
Why am I doing this? Because when you arrange a direct lease you do not have to pay intermediary fees. That benefits you with higher APR and me with lower cost of a loan. Let me know if you are interested.
I was actually interested because I would like to rent some SP myself. But I offered to pay 2.5 sbd per week. In this post I explain why I would like to rent some.

For what purpose do you want to rent some SP?
I saw your post. Did you have any luck at leasing at this price?
In my view (check my older posts) the "fair" price is about 1 SP per 100 SP/week.
Hmmm, the purpose? I guess, earn more SP.
I already thought so.
I am also thinking about doing this. As it seems to be possible to gain nice amounts on curation. Do you like to discuss some strategic things about this subject?
It only seems to.
I guess it depends on definition of what to call a nice amount. Name your number.
I'm open to discussion, but I can not answer all the questions.
My observations so far tell that curation rewards are small and likely is not an adequate compensation for your input.
At first I thought it should be possible to earn about 1% curation rewards. The 1% is based on your total amount of SP.
But you seem to prove that it could be much higher. Atm you have about 3.5%. At least of you had about the same amount of SP last week. And if that's the case, you should even be able to gain a higher percentage.
Your strategy is somehow based on upvoting quite new posts without any upvotes. I didn't fully investigate your strategy, so now I'm just guessing that you preferably vote for a few tags in combination with high reputations?
And I would also guess that this takes a lot of time or that you build a bot?
Anyways think of the profit you could make when you have 10k or even 100k SP. When if you lease SP the profit could be huge.
The strategy is more complex than you describe but yes, you can say that the major chunk of revenue comes form just a handful of tags.
Of course, the current absolute profitability means that there is no way it is done by a human. Too small pay for lots of work.
If you want to join my curation path I can hook you up to the bot. Yet you need to have at least 50-100 SP for that to work.
