Hi Steemians :)
I want to start off by apologising for my inconsistent posting over the last few days; I have been unwell and was in the middle of completing exams. Alas, they are all complete now, meaning I can get back to sharing my knowledge and ideas with all of you.
One thing I’ve delayed for a while is giving you a proper insight into who I am, so I thought I’d kick things off again by doing just that. My name is James, and I’m studying Biomedicine in Melbourne, Australia. In all honesty, I have always had a love for science yet I don’t know what quite set me down the path of wanting to study medicine. I believe it is something to do with the fact that I spent a lot of time around hospitals as a child, which exposed me to the positive impact that medical professionals yielded over the lives of their patients. I’ve always wanted to help people, and spending time in that environment over a series of years made me realise that I could blend two of my passions, science and improving other peoples lives, together into a career. That goal has been a driving force behind who I am and where I am today, and strangely is also what brings me to this community.
Where does blogging fit into all of this? It’s all about trying to inform and engage with people in their own lives. Simply, I want to be able to positively impact the as many people as I can reach. Steemit provides the perfect blueprint for me to do exactly that, through sharing knowledge I have gained through study OR a critical opinion I have on a particular issue. Due to the abundance of information available to everyone with quite literally the click of a button, you never quite know what to believe and what not to believe; hence, my aim is to hopefully breakdown this barrier a little bit – especially in relation to medical debates and issues.
Nonetheless, there is more to me than just a single mission. I’ve always been an avid writer – someone who will actively sit down and just write on whatever is on my mind. As such, occasionally I will produce other pieces such as fiction and a variety of other pieces.
I have had such an interesting and engaging experience so far on this amazing platform and have enjoyed the interaction with everyone on Steemit, especially my followers. I hope I can continue to actively contribute and create useful content for this space. I look forward to what’s to come.
Till later, adios.
Please upvote and resteem if you found this piece insightful 😊
