One hundred percent! A concept does not always depend on it's physical reality.

For example, do you have morality? If I took a human, and totally removed their ability to display behavior, how would we determine their morality?

Just because there aren't physical chains does not mean there are not conceptual chains.

Ignorance, poverty, obedience, addiction - citizens exist in conceptual shackles these days.

Edit: this conceptual bondage is arguably more dangerous because of the difficulty of detection
