I'm Joe a 48 yr old only parent to a 16 yr old son I have raised by myself since he was 3.I live in New Hampshire where I didn't grow up up or go to school but my son was born here and I left South Florida to be with him and his mother in 2001.I sold my home, quit my job, left my family and long term friends and moved here.I struggled to make a decent living here compared to what I was use to in Florida and after 3 years my son's mother left us and took off never to be heard from again.Divorce and custody cases followed and I got sole custody of him.So there I was in a state I wasn't really familiar with,I knew nobody but my ex's family as I'm an introvert and don't meet people easily on my own and I was away from my family and friends so I was on my own in every since of the word.Within a few months of being in despair on what I was going to do from here I decided I needed to work for myself so I could work days and be home for my son at night when he wasn't in school like a normal parent as I had been working nights for years up till then.I had no money but I had a credit card and a good relationship with my parents and they lent me $3,000 and I spent another $5,000 on the credit card and with no experience in owning any kind of a business before I opened a mobile auto detailing company ,I had no professional experience with detailing either.Everyone I knew here in NH said I was crazy, that it wouldn't work and thats not how it's done here that I needed a shop.I lettered up my Toyota yaris will full big colorful graphics to advertise the business and I was told I would be taking it off soon enough.By the 4th week of my business being open I was able to quit my other job.And by the 8th week I was making double on a weekly basis then any other job I had before.I was living in a $600 a month shitty 1 bedroom apartment with my son and the future was looking brighter.I kept my nose to the grind stone and grew my business to the point of I needed to hire a full time helper the 2nd year and I was able to move out of that crappy apartment into a $800 2 bedroom apartment I felt I was making our lives better with my hard work. The 3rd year we moved again into a 3 bedroom duplex and that was really nice till the water heater flooded the whole downstairs and I was asked to move out so they could make repairs. At this point I felt like I wanted to reward myself with a real single family home of my own so I rented a 3 bedroom home for $1800 for a year. The heat was horrible and costed over $400 a month so I didn't want to stay there and moved into where I am now a 3 bedroom townhouse with a garage I use to keep my Dodge Challenger R/T garaged as it never sees rain or snow, remember I'm a detailer and it stays in show car shape.I'm getting ready to move back to Florida in 2019 so my son can go to college in Orlando and Ill be starting my business from scratch once again, not looking forward to that part.Until then I hope to join the steemit community if they will have me.

Thanks for sharing. Way to hang in the and grind it out in the new business. I have started a business under less than ideal circumstances and I am so glad I did. Best of luck as you start again in Orlando. I would think your business could thrive there as well.
