First, it is great to be able to find a better way to communicate with rest of the world other than the social media ghettos like facebook or twitter.
My name is Sam Cohoon. I work for a Venture Capital firm that focuses on buying SaaS products that may need a revamp or the founders have lost interest in their product. We go in and purchase the product. Put our teams in with the hopes of reigniting and later being acquired.
I live with my wife, Amanda, and my 2 month old son, Parker. The crazy your world changes when having an offspring. Everything has been for the good though. There is not a day I would regret it. Although, he wasn't planned.
We like to call Parker Grumpis. He is starting to be able to make facial expressions, but most of the time, he looks like Jeff Dunham's Walter character
Some goals I want to do with this platform:
- Blog about general life. I have some pretty cool projects I get to work on and document the time of my son growing up.
- I love poker. I want to start a Bankroll Challenge. Go from $50 to $100 to who knows. (DTube)
- Talk about Cryptos, Cryptos, Cryptos. (Who doesn't like a good crypto post)
- Play some cover song and get some original music on here. I have been playing music ever since I was in middle school. (Mainly like the 90's alternative rock
- Talk about some conspiracy theories. Definitely like falling into a rabbit hole every once in a while.
- Journey off my weight loss. Currently around 220 lbs. Want to get down to 180.

Welcome to Steemit! If it turns out to be true, it isn't a conspiracy theory any more. haha I love playing poker, but my luck seems to get better the more I drink. Then if I drink too much, my level of care goes out the window. It's not a good strategy. LOL
There are a ton of other webpages to help you with Steemit. Here are some of the best for beginners:
https://steemd.com/ (This site is used to keep track of your voting power and other stats. You do not want to run out of voting power, and you only get so much per day. I keep my voting power around 80% for example.)
https://steem.makerwannabe.com/ (This site will tell you who follows you, who unfollows you, and who mutes you. It is great for meeting new people too. I regularly check it to see who has followed me to see if I should follow them back.)
https://steemit.chat/ (This site is the official chat webpage for Steemit. There are Discord channels too, but I usually stick to the official site. Come in to network and meet new friends. You can directly message people there too, so it makes it easier to communicate with your closest friends.)
Oh yeah, there are a lot of bots on here. If you see a cookie cutter reply, especially to your intro post, it is almost certainly a bot. Check the account's reputation. If it is low, I would recommend just ignoring them. Everything is public on Steemit, so you can go look at an account's comments and replies. Are they all the same? It's a bot.
