As a young man i lost my family. I've experienced the kind of brutal violence and horrific perversion that is normally only seen in third world countries with very corrupt governments.
It is with this experience that i tell you, beyond any doubt, that all suffering has a reason.
All suffering exists for a purpose. To accelerate growth in specific stages of consciousness. Its like the pressure of a hammer that forges the sword.
When life is slamming your face and forming you.... it can be a very difficult and brutal experience. Yet it is for a purpose, to give us the form to fulfill our chosen path.
Remember that. Even the worst acts and the most evil of people serve the will of the eternal.
In that memory, you can find forgiveness, and through that, peace. Which will lead you to your happiness.... if you truly seek that.
I strongly recommend letting go of your attachments to suffering and feeling abused and tormented.
I have found that peace exists even in the darkest and most terrifying of places. You can find it, wherever you are.
If you do find this peace... it will walk with you for the rest of your living experience and nothing will be able to phase you or stop you from fulfilling your purpose.

Very inspiring story. This is the kind often cited by motivational speakers. I like listening to them because they're empowering.

Thank you! I wrote this to inspire you and others.
I tend to agree with the notion that suffering has a purpose. But in a different way, I guess, basically after many years thinking about it and suffering depression.
The influence of Krishnamurti's teachings also made me understand that suffering is not necessary, and it isn't needed to grow or learn. Rather, suffering is a consequence of our misunderstanding of reality and ourselves, an effect to a cause, if you will.
Don't take me wrong, what suffering does is put you in a position where you have no option but to look inside.

But is suffering necessary at all costs?
Buddhists seem to say no, not always

"In the struggle alone, there is knowledge. Only when there is pain will you see the light." I was just reading this in book B.Y.S Light on Life. There is a journey called suffering and pain. Only by overcoming it, we see the internal growth of ourselves.
