Justin Timberlake opens 2018 with new video clip 'Filthy' and studio album after five years.
The pop singer and American actor Justin Timberlake has published this Friday the video clip of the song Filthy, contained in his next album "Man of the Woods" that he will publish next February 2nd. This studio work is the fifth that the artist will release solo, the first in five years, after the acclaimed The 20/20 Experience (2 of 2) 2012. The new production of the 10-time Grammy winner and four Emmy holder , is already available in preorder and with it the single "Filthy".
LET'S TALK ABOUT "FILTHY" THE NEW VIDEO, DO YOU WANT?
The video that is directed by Mark Romanek emphasizes the talent for the dance of the original performer from Memphis, Tennessee. The video shows the singer (making a small parody of Steve Jobs) entering a theater full of people in what is a conference in Kuala Lumpur, immediately with his appearance begins an introductory music and a song before the beginning of the beat. Suddenly to the break of the beat appears a quite futuristic robot, as if it were the last contraption of Elon Musk, down the stairs and little by little letting see its fine finishes and striking lights. The video returns to a Justin who watches the audience and admires his different reactions to a robot that starts to demonstrate its quality, carrying out daily actions which he performs quickly and efficiently. Meanwhile, Justin disappears little by little from the public's view and moves to a backstage to watch his robot achieve his goal.
Our protagonist, the robot, is left alone in the middle of the stage while a dozen beautiful women surround him, without any fear our robot starts to dance the rhythm so catchy and even hypnotic of the beat that "Filthy" proposes between very elegant and striking steps we realize that Justin is the one who would teach him to dance and follow in his footsteps as a proud father.
Little by little and with the running of the song, our protagonist is becoming more daring and professional in his steps, without more begins to interact with a dancer who follows the rein in the daring dance and then leave the scene and leave again to this dancer robot as the only attraction in the center. In different reactions of Justin and the audience the protagonist is raising his dance difficulty.
Here will come a half intro in the song, the same one that is at the beginning, where our robot stops and makes a flash of lights in his body that manages to drive the audience crazy, as direct as at the beginning the beat returns to the scene and all the dancers come down from their positions to approach our protagonist who without hesitation and without any scruple dances with these beautiful women who little by little increase the fever on stage when we realize that, not only are they with much less clothing than at the beginning but also that they dance in a very suggestive and exciting way as they develop different positions that our robot seems to enjoy too much.
The final climax of the video leaves a short and fake sexual scene between the protagonists on the stage and they immediately return to the center so that our robot makes a last flash of lights and the dancers fall around him, while the audience gets up and applauds totally exalted. Justin appears on the scene again at the end of the video but only to realize that it is a kind of hologram and disappears, thus ending the video.
NOW TALK ABOUT "FILTHY" THE MUSICAL THEME OK?
Filthy is so way Justin Timberlake as himself. This new song that focuses on futuristic sounds, almost like an evolution of the characteristic sound of Justin, which is complemented by a central beat that marks the rhythm and speed of the song, along with this at the moment that Justin's lyric is expanding the melody that is composed by a pretty groove bassline that captures and hypnotizes you in its first line is appearing. Parallel to this we find another accompanist that follows the rhythm and is continuous throughout the song, this sounds is a kind of bass / kick synthesizer and worked so perfectly that gives that futuristic touch to the subject and that in a way we managed to relate it directly with the protagonist of the video.
I think this theme (which I can not say represents the whole album) is an incredible and very well-made continuation of the sound that Justin has created himself from FutureSex / LoveSounds. This time a bit more advanced, futuristic, with a more electronic and synthesizer touch that simply delights, because it perfectly manages to enhance and exploit Justin's voice while we get carried away by a beat and bassline so serious and groove that it does not You can stop dancing it.
According to a statement, "Filthy" was co-written and co-produced by Timberlake, Timbaland and Danja, with additional credits from James Fauntleroy and Larrance Dopson.
No doubt I think Justin Timberlake has done it again, as always.
A LITTLE MORE ABOUT "MAN OF THE WOODS" THE NEW ALBUM
As for "Man of the woods," the material fuses traditional American rock sounds with modern influences from collaborators such as The Neptunes, Timbaland, Chris Stapleton and Alicia Keys.
"This album is very inspired by my son, my wife, my family, but about anything else I've ever composed, where I come from, and it's very personal," the musician said in a video posted on his account. of Twitter.
In the unveiled images the singer is seen accompanied by his family in nature, as well as the producer and singer Pharrell Williams working in the recording studio.
