Hello, I've been once to Nijmegen, while living in the Netherlands for some time, lovely city! I hope this will be as clear as possible for 1 am :)
- Hive is a main liquid currency with value that changes over time, HP i staked form of Hive, it's locked for 13weeks, with power-down period unlocking 1/13 of Hive every week. HP gives you more influence over the platform. HBD is a currency pegged to 1$ worth of Hive giving you around 7% yearly when transfered to savings.
- The higher your HP the more your vote is worth. There are up and down votes and after 7days these are balanced and send to your account, you can choose if you want 100% HP reward or 50/50 with HPD. In general the better quality of your content, the higher earnings, but tags are also important. There is curation mechanisms giving back around 50% of the vote value, it incentives voting for good content, in reality it's slightly more complex, you'll get to this part:)
- There are all kind of communities on Hive, some are more general, and some are very specific, just browse the most popular, at this moment I cannot remember any around your topics of your interest but I'm sure there are some
- Try with 'dutch' tag, on Hive everything is organised around tags, communities and tribes, these three entities intersect with each other, exploring most popular tags is the best starting point IMO, it take anything from few days to few months to have solid grasp over this.
- Your voting mana gives you power to vote, voting is limited to create scarcity of newly created Hive. Everybody has equal voting mana, it regenerates all the time giving you roughly 10-12 votes daily, don't remember exact value right now. RC from the other hand is your resource allowing you interacting with blockchain, any interaction takes some RC, posting, commenting, voting, it's limited to prevent spam. Your RC is higher when your HP grows. You can track these values in real time and some more data at www.hive-now.com
Feel free to ask whatever seems unclear and take your time, Hive gives significantly different experiance than other social media, but at the end it's worth it:) Cheers
Thanks a lot
