Hi,
This is me.
I live in a town called Jurmala, located just off the coast of the Baltic Sea, in a country called Latvia.
The summers are mild, and the winters are harsh, but after 6 years, I guess I got used to it.
I got used to the long summer days, where the nights last about four hours or so, and seeing the "sunset" at 10:30pm doesn't bother me like it used to when I first arrived.
I got used to the short winter days, leaving for work before sunrise, and coming home a few hours after the sun set. The fact that I can cross a river without using the bridge is something that amazed me the first time I came here, and despite having lived here for over six years, I still find it freakin' amazing.
In my spare time, I do a bit of fine woodworking. I find it to be a relaxing hobby that takes me away from the computer. I could spend hours upon hours planing the same piece of wood until I'm completely satisfied with how square, flat and smooth it is.
I'm still a beginner in woodworking, though, and my skills are not up there yet. But every now and again, I may post something about the things I've learnt about woodworking, as well as stuff I discovered myself.
Professionally, I'm a web developer. I work a lot with the technologies that make up what you're currently seeing on your screen right now. I'm well versed in front-end development languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and I work primarily with ASP.NET (C#) on the back-end.
I love technology. I love working with it, I love talking about it, and I want to share my knowledge with anyone who's interested in learning. It is my personal belief that the best way to learn is to teach. This is how I plan to use the Steemit platform.
I plan on posting about various topics related to web development, from setting up your code editor, to managing your cloud services, and everything else in between.
I really looking forward to growing with the Steemit Community.
Greeting from Latvia.
