Hi, Steemit community. My name is Andrea Ojeda Solano. I live in Caracas, Venezuela and I'm here starting my blog on Christmas' Eve with the firm conviction that Christmas' spirit will be the key to my future on this website. I'm a 27 years old gal, even though I honestly feel younger, and I could say that my best yet worst quality is that I can talk nonstop for hours.
I'm currently finishing my studies in Anthropology, a career that has improved my life in every aspect, it makes me happy and gives me purpose. My academic interests are archaeology, historic anthropology, gender studies, anthropolinguistic and pretty much everything related to social sciences and philosophy. Anthropology is my main interest, that's why I plan to share with you some stories about the field research that I've done.
About my job, I don't really want to talk about it because I hate it, I'll just say that I'm a government employee in a country that's falling apart, and every citizen hates government offices, so it's not easy. However, my job offers me structure and routine, and also the satisfaction of treating nicely the people who are used to be mistreated every time they have to do a government procedure.
I spend my spare time watching some movies, TV shows and reading some books, but mostly I like to write. I always carry with me one of my notebooks because inspiration comes at the most inconvenient moments: while I'm in a crowded bus with children crying and a hundred degrees; in the subway waiting for the last train while I shed some tears; waiting in the ATM line. Writing is my way of draining everything that's boiling inside me, it is also the manner I process my emotions and feelings, it helps me think, it makes life easier to live. Writing is having an eternal conversation with myself, it makes me forget the loneliness for a moment, remembering that I'm my own best company. I guess this is my formal invitation for you to join my conversation, sometimes it's not that boring.
Another of my interests is music. I don't really know much about music, but I do can talk a lot about the impact that music has on me and how important is in my daily life. I think that making playlists is a way of simulate journeys, create atmospheres and transmit feelings. Even though i'm currently an "indie girl", I've had musical phases from different genders. I'm an Spotify enthusiast, so I'm thinking of sharing some playlists here.
I heard of Steemit from a dear friend, and I liked the possibility of express my self in this new space and be an active member of this community. This is the link to my instagram if you want to see some pictures i've taken. I'm really looking forward to reading y'all over here.
