Hi Steemers!
I live in Moscow now, 29 years old, power engineering designer of high-voltage overhead lines.
So, about myself. A lot of my time I spend at work. Not that I'm huge fan of my profession but at least it trains my memory, makes me less susceptible to stress and brings me some money. Housings are really expensive here in Moscow, so I have to share in renting apartment with two of my friends from university which I graduated from. To be honest I don't think that Moscow is good place to live nowadays. Too many people, too many traffic problems, polluted atmosphere and so on. However things get even worse in other regions of our big country =/.
I'm trying to care about my health. I like spend my free time with friends. I like play basketball, ride bicycle, ride the karts, shoot in the dash and other funny things. Once I've even jumped with a parachute. That was awesome thing to do, I don't want to repeat it though =)).
I haven't kids, haven't a wife and even a girlfriend. I don't really want to get any of those right now. My parents do not agree with me on that ;). But I think what a family without your own house? Sometimes I feel myself doing a rat race here, but I bet that many of you have the same thoughts.
First I found out about cryptocurrencies back in 2012 and I was fascinated by the idea of money which aren't in control of some narrow group of people which is usual thing for fiat currencies. Since that time I look very closely for my favorites which are DASH, Ethereum and latter Steem of course.
Also from the very childhood of mine I really like to ponder and philosophize about our future as a mankind, about social life, power theory (BTW, does anyone know some books on the theory of power?), governance and a lot of other 'interesting' (for me) stuff. I believe I've spent a lot of my time doing that. What conclusions do I have so far?
My main believe is that next big thing will be decentralized reputation systems on the blockchains. I believe that reputation is currency of the future and not only currency but power indeed. It seems to me that startups like BackFeed or Colony are going in right direction. Just imagine sites like Yelp or Imhonet working on blockchain without any regulation and bias and this is just one tiny use case for this technology. Liquid democracy, meritocracy... choose whatever you want, they are all available for implementation to you own organization.
Tau Chain is also very interesting project which seems to solve the problem of bugs in smart contracts.
I don't say that startups mentioned above are gonna change the world. I just say that these ideas itself are really awesome. As we know from The DAO story shit happens sometimes and good thing may just fall apart. Anyway all my rant are recorded here in the blockchain forever and we will see where I was right and where I was almost right ;)
Cheers!
:) Welcome!
Hello @everythink. Some weeks ago, you commented on one of my posts about a decentralized society. You mentioned Backfeed and Tau Chain. I only checked them out now... These are amazing projects! Thank you for sharing them with me. I would love to stay in conversation with you, because I to feel that reputation systems is going to be the future and it seems like you know a few things I don't! p.s. Come to Cape Town, it's the best place in the world :)
Hi Ilya, welcome to Steemit!
It's interesting that you work with high voltage power lines, as they were featured in a story I posted here last week.
I think you will find a lot of good articles to read here. People have written about philosophy. sociology and politics and I look forward to reading what you may share on those subjects or any other!
Also, there are articles are blockchain related, and I thank you for linking to BackFeed and Colony which I had not heard of, but will check out.
When you mentioned Theory of Power and Governance, I thought of Machiavelli and I'm not sure if that's going back too far in history, but I'll link to him on wikipedia anyway: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niccol%C3%B2_Machiavelli
I hope you enjoy your time here! Best wishes!
Hi, kenny-crane and good story with HV power lines!
