hey! i wanted to finally do an official post to #introduceyourself i've just been busy and put it off until I had a spare moment. i find it hard sometimes coming to a place where i need to summarize "myself" whenever i lack context. it is very important to have context when forming connections, and i see steemit as a new city full of connections waiting to be made. so i feel this post can give context to those potential connections; please read it if you are interested in my context!
i just discovered my love of infrastructure
i love to build. some of my earliest memories are of these small sandboxes nearby parks had during my childhood, where i could sit on a tiny shoveling chair and pile sand up with it. i was always into turning our rooms into car cities with those hotwheels cars, my brother and i collected them for a while. i built lego blocks, k'nex, that sort of thing. i also was very good at unbuilding things. i made a habit of disassembling things from a young age. i didn't always get them back properly, or sometimes i would generate spare screws in the process, but now looking back i should have realized much sooner that i really loved something about building. and buildings. i always loved looking at structural architecture, and any kind of large building or bridge or complex structure. i never got much into gaming on my cell phone but some of my favorite games on there were building bridges with some kind of physical limitation, or building up a city for a civilization to thrive in, or slowly building up stat trees in an rpg (though that was more pc/console, i digress).
i always picked up new things quickly but got bored just as fast, mostly thinking i just hadn't found the right hobby to turn into a career yet. this year has been very different for me, though. i finally realized that the part i really love is seeing how things connect and change the big picture! now having found my true desire of building and designing and inspecting complex systems, i have chosen to dive into architecture; what a great place for me to get invited to (cheers, @rdollarsign)!
i found the community over at Crown (CRW, crown.tech, mm.crownlab.eu) at the same time that i found myself, and so i have volunteered as the Community Architect and my desire is to build up a place where ideas can be exchanged in a positive way. my first project, which i was able to fund through the crown proposal system, is to put the wiki in order and begin making it easier for people to find training info. we really want to be a place where people feel they can add in their own idea and are open-minded to others, and so far i love the way new crypto communities are working together to join ideas, so i want to rally alongside steemians (especially loving the sound of steem.city, steemgigs, the farmers market project, all of it) and try to get more knowledge and learn from all you smart people out there!
if anyone would like to read through what we have so far, and feel free to DM or comment me your feedback on what you think makes sense, especially for non-crypto beginners, the website is: http://op.crownlab.eu/projects/crown-atomic/wiki/wiki
i even started a local meetup group and a youtube channel with the goal of getting "everyday" people interested in the new internet that we are all a part of here. i really want to help with the bottom-up emergence that will come into crypto the more we bring in the diversity of more people. i myself have *so much* to learn, and i hope you will see my questions and articles for what they are; my intention is to become good at helping people build new spaces on the new internet. the timing is right for this kind of work and i have met so many great people in such a short time. please share your ideas with me! i am super busy but i am saving all of your suggestions and making notes, especially wanted to should out to @j3dy for all of your replies and links, I have gone through them all now and gleaned some great info, like @kencode. i want to start doing a *lot* more posts here and on all of my social media platforms saying what i have learned, so hopefully all of the info you guys synthesize with me will get into the brains of those who need it most!
take a look and let me know what you think of this style of using analogies; i would love it if you would show a non-crypto friend and ask them if it makes sense:
blockchain explained, czech subtitles
distributed governance masternodes
Thank you for reading this. I really appreciate your time.
