They haven't bothered releasing a wallet in over 2 years.
Monero is an unfunded, open-source project. "We" have bothered to build on Monero's fundamentals, which is why the project has had nearly 2200 commits by 45 contributors in the last 2 years. Nobody in the community had the time and/or knowledge to work on the GUI until more recently, as those fundamentals were important.
Feel free to submit a pull request directly to mbg033's branch of the GUI: https://github.com/mbg033/monero-core, or wait until he's brought upstream in sync and submit a PR there: https://github.com/monero-project/monero-core
The CLI wallet is unsafe.
Rubbish, provide evidence of your claim or keep quiet.
That's how little they think of their users.
Do you know that there was a time when Monero transactions were dangerously unsafe, and new transactions could leak information about previous transactions that belonged to another person? Do you know that there was a time when running Monero required the entire blockchain to be loaded into memory? Do you know that there was a time when syncing Monero up from scratch would take over a day instead of 45 minutes?
Not only did we fix all of that, but we backed it up by solid research that defends and protects our users:
- MRL-0001: A Note on Chain Reactions in Traceability in CryptoNote 2.0
- MRL-0002: Counterfeiting via Merkle Tree Exploits within Virtual Currencies Employing the CryptoNote Protocol
- MRL-0003: Monero is Not That Mysterious
- MRL-0004: Improving Obfuscation in the CryptoNote Protocol
- MRL-0005: Ring Signature Confidential Transactions
The Monero community cares for each other and for our users, which is why the contributors and community have put in so much effort to make Monero more efficient and more secure.
But FP come here every day to spam this place with Monero propaganda.
This is my first post here, and I mentioned Monero once, at the outset, to contextualise who I am. That's it.
Now get a clue, you moron.
