I've been around the cryptocurrency scene since Early 2013. I started out as learning about Bitcoin and eventually transitioned to mining it full time around the end of that year. While it was a fruitful endeavor for a while, I ultimately broke even (with electricity equalling how much coin I had mined) by about July 2014. Since then, I've kept busy with various odds and ends in the industry. I'm currently writing content for honeybadgerofmoney.com and for Bitcoinist.net! However, this platform has inspired me to put in the efforts to move from my older social media stomping grounds (reddit and twitter) and to rather focus my time and energies on making this place better! I have been a moderator for /r/bitcoin for over a year and even made a Bitcoin Rap song once! Some of the great places to pickup on how Cryptocurrency work include Zapchain and IRC or if you're really inclined, there are a few soundcloud podcasts as well.
Tips for Steemit - Report your earnings - not doing so is the equivalent of Tax Evasion, I cannot stress this enough. Do your fair part and report taxes - they're cryptocurrency; You may think that it's not a problem to omit this information, but trust me when I say that it's forever recorded - if you indeed earned more than a few thousand dollars, it can be looked up and referenced eventually.
