Wow, great intro! I see that your post here was featured in the same #heyhaveyamet post as mine was. Nice to meet you. The food you have shown there looks wonderfully good, so good that it is hard to believe it is anything at all to do with "Peasants", even on a payday, lol. Is that smoked salmon I see? Yum! A real delicacy here in New Zealand.
You're in special education, huh? Very cool. Both my wife and I have learning disabilities ... I was an undiagnosed autistic throughout my entire schooling. My wife was born with Spina Bifida, and has the associated "executive function disorder" common with it. We have a special place in our hearts for special ed teachers like you.
Your $20 Crypto challenge sounds like fun. I'll have to keep an eye out and see how you go with it. All the best for your time here on HIVE.
Very interesting story! I wonder how an adult can find out if they are a hyperfunctional autistic person as I have heard of many cases where this goes unnoticed for years during school.
The simplest way to get diagnosed is ... to get married! Your spouse will work it for you pretty quickly, haha. That's how it happened for me, anyway. My wife was the first one who started suspecting my diagnosis, but I kept saying to her that "my a$$ is not a burger!" But in the end, I was formally diagnosed with Aspergers. She never fails to remind me that she was right! 🤣
Wow really? How awesome to have such a witty partner! I took a free test a long time ago which revealed that I might have, but I did the test only because I have been told several times that the way I behave and think and to things is...odd. Anyway, I am happy for the two of you, to be married with the right partner who can understand you is huge, just huge.
We came up with Peasants on Payday when we decided we would, each payday, splurge a little more than usual on fancier ingredients, or at least ingredients we're unfamiliar with. It usually yielded the meals I'm more likely to share here. As for my Crypto challenge, I'm looking forward to learning about it, and passing off small lessons I learn to the readers, but if we can make it to $1000 (or if we don't, that's fine too), I'll donate it all to a charity we vote on here!
I vaguely recall someone doing a challenge like yours back when I was on Steem. They weren't allowed to stake, nor to accept gifts, and many other such prohibitions during the challenge. They had to earn the crypto the hard way, by just posting and replying to posts. Is your challenge going to be something like that? Or is it just a "earn crypto on HIVE however you can" type of thing? Either way, it sounds like fun!
Looking back I see I did not word it very well. Some clarifications coming on my next post! Haha!
I'm challenging myself to turn $20 of (any) Cryptocurrency into $1000 of (any) Cryptocurrency. I'll start on Coinbase, but who knows where it will take me! My posts will be going over whatever knowledge I've gained or connections to resources I've learned to use. Hopefully I become a better trader, and take some people with me! And, I'll donate the $1000 to a charity at the end of the year! (Or if I hit it before then, fingers crossed).
