Flagged for spamming steem.chat's general chat room and asking for upvotes.
If you had instead used the chat room to chat and make friends, rather than spamming, someone would have likely checked out your blog on their own, without you posting a link. Consider this a lesson. Part of becoming successful on Steem is socializing and making friends, not spamming, or asking for upvotes.
Well I'm new to this, didn't know it was wrong to do that
Is it really necessary to down-vote a new person that does not understand all the rules, for something they did OFF steemit in chat? I find that harsh to say the least, taking away rewards from someone new like that, maybe keep the punishment within the chat room not on steemit, just saying.
Necessary? No. But spam is listed right there in the flagging sub window. The few cents my flag took will make them more mindful of the actions they take in the future.
Are you talking spamming steemit.com in this window? since when is a chat room spamming steemit.com?
It's not. But I believe I was fully justified to flag for spamming another steem related service.
Someone being new doesn't excuse their actions. A chat room is for chatting, not going in, dropping a link, and completely ignoring everyone. It even says at the top that promotion isn't allowed.
You can forgive whatever you want of someone for "being new" and "not knowing any better" but I am not required to. I am free to use my vote and flag how I wish, including to flag for spamming their link elsewhere.
My bad, I did not realize you owned the chat room or were the admin for it.
