I feel like I found the solution to the adpocalypse, is steem-it? (Intro)

in #introduceyourself7 years ago (edited)

So I see the tradition is to introduce yourself before beginning the steemit journey so here goes.

I'm a 21 year old living in the United States, originally from Russia. My parents are divorced and now I live with my gram parents and help them out. I run my own flooring business where we do a variety of floors such as tile, hardwood, carpet. I grew up wanting to invest in projects and watch great things come alive but I really had no idea where I should focus my energy on. I started working for a an Uncle in the flooring business temporary. I grew to tolerate the hardwork and after a year I decided to go off on my own and find my own projects. The next year I went of and started my own business with a partner, hustled and reached, what I would call a successful spot. I began making up to $5,000 a month which considering I'm a millennial is kind of a achievement.

My goal was to work and make as much money as I could while I searched something worthy enough for me to dedicate my life to it. That's when I came across cryptos roughly a few months ago, I'm pretty new to the scene still. After throwing $500 into bitcoin at 11k I really started researching other cryptos and became fascinated. I realized I'm watching a new world being brought to life, an invention that will naturally improve efficiency of the internet. The goals these cryptocurrencies were trying to achieve are as vast as the world itself. Substratum for example is trying to achieve a world wide open internet that will bring freedom of access to countries like china, and basically functions on the ideas of Net Neutrality, so we might not even have to fight the system to get NN back. We can just support a better system that offers basic internet rights that not many have. Blockchain and similar tech is about to change every industry that has anything to do with the internet and I love it. Now I invest my earnings into this global ecosystem that is about to emerge into the mainstream.

Steemit, is it basically a solution to the adpocalypse? Its how I see it, decentralized social media to the point that good content is promoted naturally without a centralized company that decides what they wanna approve or not. If the content is superb then the author should be rewarded for his contribution. This automatically eliminates all those unnecessary hate and generally stupid comments, making any platform less toxic to use. I see great future for steem and steemit. Steemit and similar projects should be the backbone of all social media.

As I am new here and still learning about nature of this platform I will be expanding my own knowledge and in the process share with you guys in this journey.
