RE: Hello Steemit! My introduction, photographer and online business owner from Sydney Australia

Welcome @stevearnold,

Great to see more and more photographers coming to this platform!

I'm preparing for my next trip, and the destination will be New Zealand. You mentioned your favorite place overthere. Really like the picture from Glenorchy. Do you have some other tips for there maybe?

Remy

Thanks @guchtere, steemit seems like the ideal place for photographers to hang out!

The whole drive from Queenstown and Glenorchy is just stunning. It's about an hour long if I remember correctly, but there are heaps of spots to stop along the way and take amazing photos. So allow yourself time for that.

My other highlights include Mt Cook (definitely consider the walk/hike to Hooker Lake (around 2 hrs each way). Depending on the time of year there'll be ice bergs in the lake, which makes for amazing photos.

I'll be going back to Milford Sound too, next time I get to go over. That place is just stunning, but a little bit out of the way compared to the most popular locations. Again, the 2 hour drive from the nearest town to Milford Sound could be a full day if you make the most of the scenery along the way.

Wanaka is a beautiful small town worth visiting. There's the famous "wanaka tree" but it's very crowded these days (photographers! lol). You might find yourself battling for tripod position with other togs if you shoot a sunrise or sunset there.

Less popular among photographers, but just a beautiful place to be, is Akaroa. If you just want some downtime to relax close to christchurch at the end of your trip.

Then Queenstown itself is a really cool town to be. Hugely inflated prices for everything, but thats the price we gotta pay for the awesomeness! haha.

Wow great reply thanks for so many tips! What is the best way for transportation, camper minivan car?

What time/period of the year are there icebergs in Hooker lake?

Was thinking about a trip for 4 maybe 5 weeks but if I hear your comment to take my time at places and some long drives when you want to see al the stunning views I'm gonna need at least 8 weeks I think hehe :P
