Welcome to steemit!
If cryptocurrency really was a threat to the system, they would DO something about it. They have all the power in the world. They would not watch in horror as their business gets damaged. laws would be made, people arrested or suicided. The FIAT money was designed to crash every few decades to transfer the wealth. Right now we have the same situation as in the 1920's, before the big crash. Just my 2 cents...
