Today marks my 3rd day here on Steemit. As you've read (if you have) on my first post, I introduced my self as the large girl trying to get fit. Here is a more indepth introduction of who I am and why I am here.
I live in Manila, Philippines, and I work in a call center as a Quality Assurace and Process Improvement Specialist.
If you are not familiar where The Philippines is, we're the small group of island in the southeast underneath Japan.
In my job we audit calls of agents, and provide recommendations to Operations. I was a call center agent for 3 years since May 2014 and got promoted as a Quality Specialist in July 2016. I never regret having this job even if it is not what I dreamt of. I am proud of the take aways and skills I've gained through my stay in this industry - a job no one should belittle.
My dream job is to be a broadcast journalist, but my parents told me that it is dangerous and suggested for me to take Accountancy instead. I cannot make good decisions back then and agreed to take it believing that they know best. I studied Bachelor of Science in Accountancy in Miriam College. On my 5th year, where I was supposed to graduate, I failed one of my major subjects and learned that I cannot join the march. I got disheartened by this failure and stopped. If you ever heard of my school near "The" Ateneo you'll understand how much money got wasted for me dropping out. After almost 4 years of working in a call center, I finally found the courage to continue my studies, because though I am satisfied with my job, it will still be better to graduate and get my diploma. I phoned our school to ask how I can apply for re-admission but was told that I can only do it once I have settled my balance. I am confident enough that I can pay it but to my horror I was told that my outstanding balance is 47,000 Philippine Peso (php). That is too much considering that I don't get the whole amount of my wage to myself, as I have to help with the expenses at home.
I immediately budgeted my income and found out that I can have 1,000 php per cut off, that is 2,000 php per month which will take me 24 months to settle. I started looking for alternatives on how to get extra income without compromising my current job. I cannot ask my Mom as she doesn't have any source of income apart from the pension she is getting. If you're wondering what about my Dad, well long story, he left us for another woman just last year. That is the most painful event for our family, after he has been with my Mom for 33 years- now down the drain. I want to ask my Aunt who now lives in Canada, but cannot because she helped me since my 3rd year in College and no longer have the face to ask her again after I failed. Someone then told me about Steemit which caught my interest. It will take a lot of work to be successful here but it is worth the shot.
Just me telling life that it can't beat me.
I am a dreamer once but we all get to the point where we get discouraged and make bad decisions. Life is full of dramas, which is a given truth, you just have to know when and how to stand up. This is me standing up from all the dramas. In the end of the day you are the captain of the ship and the sail is yours to navigate. It is all up to you on how you can do better things in life despite all the big waves that might hinder your sail.
Welcome to steemit @hundredlbsbeauty! You can be sure that your passion in writing will be at good use on this platform, who knows more opportunities will come for you as you interact more with the community, not to mention earning some coins.
The value of Pinoy that take care of the family, and friends as well will surely be showcased to the world in this platform, and you can lead us on that along with @steemitfamilyph.
Good post, hope to see more of your post.
God speed.
Thanks, Guruvaj this means a lot to me. Though I am aware that there might be grammar lapses, I will do my best to polish it to make my blogs more interesting. I will also do my best to come up with a topic that can or may help anyone in the community. Surely there are no bashers round here unlike with the other platforms. Positive comments motivates me to do more and to raise the bar.
Welcome to Steemit! Good luck on earning some side cash; crypto currencies are experiencing massive growth which present an area of opportunity. Many people are against Bitconnect but you can grow your capital there and or earn daily passive income. I'm a Personal Trainer located in Canada.
Hi there! That was what I learned from the articles I read here which is an eye opener. What is Bitconnect? How does it work and where can you tell me more about it?
Its an online investment platform that grows your network via daily passive compounding interest. There website is bitconnect.co; also cyrpto-currencies are growing at an exponential rate.
You're beautiful, sis! 💕
Thank you 💜💜💜💜😶
I agree!
Hi! Steemit would help you a lot in your expenses. I recently just cashed out 14k+ pesos from here. 😊 you can earn enough to pay your balance in a few months maybe even less than a month.
Welcome to steemit and to @steemitfamilyph!
Congratulations on your payout. 😊 thank you, this keeps me motivated.
Congratulations!
I feel you. This is exactly what I felt in dental school. But now I’m back up and trying again. I didn’t stop for long but I needed the break. And I'm sorry about your dad. 😔 as what the movie three idiots say, “all is well”. Maybe not now, but one day, for sure it will. 💪🏼 Fighting!
Thanks for the kind note! Hope to continue my studies too as soon as possible. I don't want my Mom's effort to go in vain, especially with all that's going on. She's in deep emotional distress- something that I want to change. Yep with hands on my chest, "all izz well."
You are not fat. You're beautiful!
Thank you so much for the compliment. Appreciate it!
