I'm proud to say that I was part of a swiss-indian school exchange. In the end of summer 2016 an indian school class came to our school and stayed for 2 weeks. Me and my family hosted two indian girls named "Sajusha" and "Nandita". At the beginning I had difficulties with memorizing their names because they where just unusual for us Swiss People. Also my english hasn't been that good that time and as they had a strong indian accent it was way more difficult to understand them.

A first funny experience:

In India the toilette and shower are not seperated, so when you shower the whole floor gets wet, also the floor under the toilette.
In Switzerland we have a shower cabinet so not the whole bathroom gets wet.
Unfortunately the two Indian Girls didn't get that they should close the cabinet-door so we had an indundation in our bathroom every time they showered. I didn't get the problem until I was in India and saw their showers.

Me and my class organized a whole programm for the two weeks. So one day a swiss rapper came to visit our school and we had a lot of fun together.

During the weekend we planned a trip to Basel and showed the two girls the "Münster" and the river of Basel ("Rhein"). I wanted to show them Basel because it's my favourite city in Switzerland and my mom grew up there, as well as my grandmom who still lives there with my grandpa. We really enjoyed the day!

On Sunday we had the idea to take them to the lake near our home so that they can take a bath in a clean lake. They were so grateful for this experience and had much fun in the lake. But to be honest, I kind of felt a bit underdressed with my bikini cause they wore a lot more then me. But that's also just a culture difference.

On the next to last day the whole Indian class performed a show for my school. As my hostsister is one of the best traditional Indian dance dancer of her school she performed a solo dance. The dance is called "Bharatanatyam".

Our last evening together came really fast so we organzied a traditional swiss dinner for our guests. Right, something with cheese. Specifically we ate Fondue, Raclette and "Älplermakkerone".

What looked kind of special for us Swiss people was that they put sooooo muuch spices on the cheese. A Swiss person couldn't enjoy a cheese meal with that much spice! But in comparison to Indian food our food is flavourless as they use a lot of spices.

Here you can see me with my two hostsisters:

All the best
