First Post on Steemit - Some Little Pills About Me

 Hello everyone!

I'm a 24 years old italian boy and I'm very glad to be here on Steemit. Few weeks ago a friend of mine ( @changsmarangs ) introduced me to this amazing and interesting world, which is not easy to undestand but definitely has a huge potential.
I have read many contents on steemit before posting anything as I wanted to learn how this community works first. What I found was much over my expectative (So thank you guys to keep this real and collaborative)

I'm living a "block of posting" on others social network; i think this comes from a deep disconfort caused by a impossibility to discuss and improve some topic on popular social network. Too many times i see pages with dumb and fake articles with more views then a real and well developed page. So i didn't post anything on my social for like 5 years before approad on steemit and I'm really happy that this community and this new amazing thing changed my attitude and now I'm very excited about posting good stuff on here and sharing with you all.

I got a short degree in Psychology, but then i chose to quit my carrer and now im trying to find my way in a different field. I would like to open an own activity and my dream is to open something like "agriturismo" (a sort of restaurant that just use home made materials and try to support the 0km market)
Now I'm full of ideas and projects and I'm very curious to see what will come out. I'm lucky that my parents support me in this idea. Even though my dream is to have an indipendent, fullfilling and socially and environmentally sustainable job, I also have to compromise and get along with some – as I call them- "slave jobs" in order to achieve something bigger and aligned with my ideals in the future.

My interests includes of course psychology but also many practical things like harvest plants (I'm a huge hot peppers fan and I love to grow them from seeds), home-cooking and home-made craft beer and breed insects (I have two leaf insect and a little tarantula and I'd like to breed bees too). In my free time I also enjoy watching movies and tv series. Some of my favourite ones are: Breaking Bad (of course), Mr. Robot, Narcos and Rick and Morty.

Since 3 or 4 years my interest also went to ambient and climate changes; as a young guy I'm really, really worried about the condition of our planet: I really feel bad when I see men destroying nature and life. We have cities in China that had to build white screens to let people see throught pollution, we have thousand of tons of plastic and trash floating in the oceans (I say "we have" bacuse we all breath the same air and drink the same water ), and it's very clear and strong in my mind the need of doing something to avoid destroying this magic thing that is nature. Ever since the first industrial revolution, humans made more damage to our planet then anything else in known history. Now we have the possibility to recognize this dangerous situation and to join together in changing this set of things. I truly hope one day (not too far or it will be too late) people will demand respect for the environment.
We are destroying our planet and if this trend will not stop our children and grand-children will never see all the beautiful creatures and plants that evolution made in billions of years and this is very sad and unfair.
For this reason at the moment I'm trying to apply for an environmental volunteering beacuse I would like to do my little part in this huge nightmare.

These are just the first things that came to my mind about myself and I hope this introduction wasn't too boring and I hope to find people sharing the same passions and worries.

Peace.

Welcome to Steemit!

I majored in psychology in college as well. It's an interesting field for study, but in the end I too found it was a field that I wasn't interested in pursuing as a career. I wish you the best in finding and pursuing your dreams, and creativity, as well.

I know that feeling!! Thank you very much! I wish the best to you as well.

Hello dear! Welcome to steemit. hugs
I hope you find your niche here. I am also 24, but female and from Philippines. I hope we can be friends. Have a great day!

Thank youu! Sure! I like to have friends from all over the world. Magandang Umaga !

welcome to steemit .... greeting from indonesian (^_^)

A big Thank You from Italy ! :)

I can 100% agree about the condition of our planet ; people think climate change and global warming are real - although after watching this video and doing a lot of research into politics and religion, ( not just one religion ; every religion i could get my hands on ) that i personally think global warming and climate change are a hoax .
And it begins with the Egyptian bible ;
Watch this video - maybe this will change your perspective on climate change .

Aside from that ; welcome to the platform, im sure you will enjoy the platform, and youll love the community .

Welcome to steemit, @irrilevante!

You seem like a passionate and intelligent young man. And you just clicked on all my favorite series. I'll add Black Mirror to the list!

My profile is @flashfiction and i would like to present you some links i found really useful when i first signed up here. They will make you start with the right foot on Steemit!

This links will all open on the SAME TAB (Yeah, i know...), so i recommend opening them with "right click->open in a new tab".

Growing FastTopYou HAVE to register here, if you want to build an audience FAST. It's a free service for boosting exposure, upvotes and followers. You just have to click on "login". Have your key at hand (That awfully long number you got when you signed up on Steemit). The tutorials are easy to follow.
All about steem coinsTopThere are three coins of use on Steemit, and understanding them is critical for your success. This is a short explaining video, the very best i've found.
MarkdownTopEven if you can use some basic HTML on your posts, the correct way to format them is NOT HTML. You use a marking ruleset called, yeah, "Markdown". Have this as a complete reference.
PostingMediumThe top activities on this site are posting and commenting. This is an excellent tutorial about making your posts look great. Don't miss it!
Better interfaceMediumLet's face it: The interface on Steemit is pretty basic. "Busy" is an alternate interface you can use, more polished and easy to navigate. Both of them can be used simultaneously. Again, you just have to login.
Using BotsMediumThere are a lot of things to learn about this platform, and understanding bots is one of the most important. They are little different services you can access for a fee. I found this tutorial extremely useful.
Trevon JamesMediumI know, i know... there are lots and lots of GREAT steemians here for picking one to recommend, but i just love Trevon's style. He explains EVERYTHING you need to know about Steemit (and crypto) in a funny, accesible way. Check him out.
