Hello. my name is Jack and I have a strong passion for cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Dash, with Steemit come along to join them! I'm really passionate about computing and in-fact doing a diploma in Computer Science and I expected to graduate by August 2018. With only a year left of school, I had to decide what I will do when I'm gone. This is when I started learning HTML, CSS and PHP. I decided to go into Bitcoin around October 2015 and since then I have bought some, traded and even bought a Lifetime Genesis Mining Contract for Bitcoin. I also have a 25.5MH/s X11 Contract, which I hope to make my ROI soon. My Bitcoin and Dash is currently stored in the Exodus Wallet, which is an amazing wallet by (a review will soon be out). I believe that Bitcoin, Dash and Steemit is the currency of the future. Overall I am just a cryptocurrency fanatic!

But that means that you'd be likely to spend it also as you accumulate it back monthly. The fact that the price appreciates like a stock or commodity is usually enough benefit for most to save. Don't get me wrong, I still spend some of my Bitcoin, specially if it's profit, and not necessarily the money i used to buy it. I buy about $100 a check, so $200 a month. If I spend it, usually it is trading it for another coin or token, or investing in an ICO of a bitcoin related company launching. Rarely do I guy goods or services with it, but when I do, I'm usually spending the extra value I made by holding it and the price going up. Just a thought. I'm not judging you, I just try to wrap my brain around people who invest in mining contracts, I cannot see the benefit of it, and I've considered it. I really cannot find a good reason compared to using Coinbase or another service to buy it outright and hold it. Maybe you can say you are contributing to hashing power and supporting the network, but there will be miners regardless running the network, and there is no shortage of that since it's the largest p2p network on Earth, and hashing power continues to grow every 4 years during the halving. Why buy mining contracts when you can just buy and hold Bitcoin and Dash?
I like the daily payouts from Genesis :)
But why wait for payouts and trust a 3rd party to pay you out? Why not take the amount spent on contracts and just buy btc or dash and hold it? Just curious.
I personally like the payouts as they give me the incentive to save them. Especially as the contract is lifetime for Bitcoin, it could run for 6 years until unprofitable to mine. :)

Lol as long as you realize there is risk. The greater good? There will be miners with or without mining contracts. I just hope you think and understand, that anytime you give someone money and they promise to pay you out in payments, there is risk that they could either fail, or just not pay out. I haven't heard negative reports on Genesis, but I've seen man mining contracts/companies fail, then fail to pay out over the last few years. Now if you are gaining more BTC and it's worth the risk, then maybe it's worth it for higher payouts than what you can just buy in one lump sum with the same amount the mining contract costs. But other than that, why risk it, when you buy and secure yourself? To each their own. Welcome to Steemit and the bitcoin space :)
I do understand the risk yes, but again I am willing to take that :) I, myself have seen companies collapse as I have been a victim of that myself, but again it's a risk. I do not like to hold BTC as I have the urge to spend it, and most of the time I will spend it on something wasteful, such as a game. So why not invest into Genesis? Haha. Do you believe you can make a one time purchase on Genesis mining and profit? I have been in this game for a long time and one thing I learned is that Genesis Mining is a bad investment.
I believe that you can put a lump sum of money into Genesis and use the profits earned to keep upgrading :)
