Hello, I'm Jemma.
I originally heard about Steemit from @thatsweeneyguy. I was very intrigued by the multiple functions this setup allows you to preform. I myself am interested in posting fanfiction, opinionated blogs, photography and small comics, without the hassle of going to various websites in order to do so.
My boyfriend and I founded our relationship on artistic interests and enjoy collaborating our talents, so I'm excited that we will be able to share some of our creations here and find others to possibly collaborate and share our passion with.
Before social media was popular I was an active mIRC chat room enthusiast. Some of the friendships I made virtually were more meaningful to me than ones I've made in real life, and though I've never been much of a blogger, this type of unique layout seems to bring forth a close community of which I would love to become a part of.

He is pretty awesome. A real life friend of mine and yes! mIRC brings back very fond memories for me. :) It was mostly anime chat rooms personally but still lol

Hello and welcome. Your comment on the virtual relationships being more meaningful than some IRL....this resonates with me. As I have made wonderful relationships with people online. I think these relationships are "IRL" simply bevause you are truly interacting with another human being. Its so annoying when some people say "oh but they're just your online friend". Like okay but my "just online friend" has been there for me more than you have.....I feel like telling people that sometimes. Hope you enjoy steemit. I too have been told those things about friends online, however i don't see the how it is any different than having a penpal. Its just quicker and can be far more personable. When talking to someone online I can word myself better, feel safer about secrets and personal things, instead of real conversations with people I hardly know where I'm awkwardly spitting out word vomit.
