I'm Jessica aka Jessyjay; a textile artist, fashion designer, and home decorator from Nigeria. I love traveling and visiting new places. I am a graduate of fine and industrial art.
Presently, I work in my studio where I make handmade batik and tie-dye designs on fabrics, host exhibitions and auctions of the products and exotic garment designs and styles.
Batik is a process for making designs on fabric. Wax is used to selectively prevent dye from penetrating the cloth, thereby leaving "blank area" which are usually designed using a stamp or free hand on the fabric.
In tie and dye, the fabric is tied in a certain pattern in order to prevent dye from penetrating the cloth, thereby leaving designs on the dyed fabric. More than two colors can be used.
I enjoy doing what I do as an artist because each time, I create something new and beautiful, a piece of art, lovely to behold.
I also do home furnishings and interior decorations. Combinations of curtains, window blinds, furniture to give the home the amazing feel and comfort it deserves.
When I learnt about Steemit, I marveled at the idea of a social media site that rewards users for sharing original content. Finally, I'm super excited to be here on steemit and to share my works of art with amazing people. I hope to make as much friend's as possible. I can't wait to start Steeming!!! 😀😜
