RE: Hello World, I'm Johnyliltoe

"You focus on money and that's all that starts to matter." Couldn't agree more, Chris. I remember reading a book called "The Number". The author would ask people at different stages of their lives how much money they would need in order to be willing to stop working for it. What's interesting is that no one ever has that number in mind--they just feel where they are now is just not enough--It didn't matter if they were millionaires many times over--they still felt compelled to earn more... Ugh... I don't understand this mentality. Anyway, enjoyed your intro and welcome to the community. You seem to be the kind of person I'd enjoy following, so here's a follow :) Cheers and best in this new journey!

Thanks! Yeah, around the end of 2012 I was making good (not great) money. Had about 30k saved up, owned my own apartment (with a mortgage) and was living it up. But I wasn't happy with it. I liked the people I worked with, but I was ultimately working to make more money. It was empty.

How much money would I need to stop working for it? 2 million. I can live off that interest easily. I'd still work though, and probably wouldn't change my life style all too much. If money would make that much of an impact (outside of paying off my debt, THAT I don't like one bit) then I should be taking steps to change it without money.
