There's a lot of bots on here... are there real people here as well? lol Is there a code world for human?

Hey!
I followed you, welcome to SteemIt!

The bots are to help newcomers and it is relatively recent. Trust me, you would prefer having bots boosting your posts and top posts being around 500 rather than a small group of whales with 1000-10000 posts and not being able to get money from the site.

Fair enough. Just when you're used to a chat site like yahoo being ruined by bots it makes me nervous :) I appreciate the positivity tho

No problem :) basically the bots give us both benefits. You get more curation and we get more content. It seems, though, that it is also working against itself.

For example, I can't upvote due to "not having enough voting weight" which is indicative of attempts to reduce spam content because you will have a few whales with like 300 some accounts auto spamming the whales into big numbers.

There's no easy way to have a decentralized system of payment without the hand of the free market giving favor to few at the expense of many.
