Welcome Bonni! @bonni I am fairly new to Steemit and can tell you it has been wonderful getting to know such a great network of people, learn and share here! I relate to you somewhat as I spent so many wonderful days very close to the shores of the Susquehanna. I moved from the Harrisburg area down to St Augustine, FL in part to care for my dear friend who suffers from diabetes but who has dealt with it a jority of her life. My Mom has also been pre-diagnosed (didn't know there was such a thing) so I try to learn about the disease as much as possible so I can help. I believe that God gives you nothing you cannot tackle in life and the challenges we face give us a greater appreciation for what we have in life. I look forward to hearing more from you and hopefully seeing some posts including photos of beautiful PA. Welcome again! (And Go Pens!!)

Hey @lanceman! I know that PA never leaves you. I moved away for 3 years and came back. It would be hard for me to live in a hot climate. If anything, I'd go colder than PA if I had to. Good luck with your diabetes research. Every time I think I have my head wrapped around it, I find different 'expert' advice that is totally opposite of the last 'expert' advice. Both my parents are diabetic and so far I'm the only one of 4 kids who has been diagnosed. It's a bummer, but it could be much worse. I'll deal with it and try to manage it as best I can which is hard to do living in carb heaven Pennsylvania ... pasta, pizza, pierogies, haluski, bread.
