Hello fellow steemians.
I'm a newbie here, so let's get to know each other.
I think we live in a time to watch history unfold. No, really! There's so much fascinating technology around that it's hard to decide where to look. In this blog, I'll keep track of the innovations that I find most interesting, smart, futuristic and potentially world-changing. Here's brief (and incomplete) list of topics that I expect to appear here in near future.
Cryptocurrency
Well, this one is obvious. Since Steem itself is built on top of blockchain, all of us here are, to some extent, involved in crypto-revolution. But Steem is just one example in an endless sea of apps, coins and businesses thriving in this strange and unique new market. Because of sheer number of such ventures it's really hard to keep track of what projects are actually important, what apps are really innovative and which news are worthy your attention. Especially since, in my view, more than 99% of the so-called currencies and ICO's are in the best case well executed marketing ploys, and in the worst case - shameless scams. But as long as there are people who build things and not just sell them, there will exist useful, original products, which step-by-step move the wheels of technology to the future. In this blog I will concentrate on one percent of projects that, like Steem, bring something new to the table. Like clever technology or unique ideas.
I'm not in any way a trader, but I hold small amount of different coins in my portfolio, just for fun. I'm interested in some aspects market dynamics, but mostly in a purely theoretical, mathematical way. I mean, you will not see me drawing triangles on candle graphs trying to predict a future.
I would not recommend anybody to treat my word here as an investment advice, because I'm not trying to predict the success of any coin or project. I will try to evaluate projects from completely different perspective of usefullness and innovation, and while there might be some correlation between that and market performance, unfortunately it's not always the case. So if you loose your money by trying to get rich quickly - not my fault.
Science and technology
Machine learning, AI, IoT, self-driving cars: yes, it's all buzzwords, i know. But there must be a reason for all the buzz. Much like with cryptocurrency, if you can dig through piles of shitty articles with clickbait-titles, there's actually lots of interesting news. I'll try to focus on those.
Science-fiction and futurism
What can I say, I really enjoy good science-fiction in any form: books, movies, shows, music, comics, anime, games - you name it. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be the most popular topic here on Steem - I can't even find it in the list of tags. So if you share my enthusiasm for sci-fi - please stick around (and let me know what do you think about the new Star Trek show).
Everything else
There is lots of interesting things in life. My plan for this blog is to be, as you can probably see, very science/technology oriented, but everybody enjoys to talk some home-made philosophy from time to time. Be ready for that.
