From photographer to prompter - an introduction

After some weeks on hive (I created this account almost two years ago, but didn't start until the beginning of November), it's time to introduce myself.

My name is Stuart and I have got a nice job in marketing. It was in the year 2000 when I bought my first digital camera. With that I started to photograph my female friends. Digital cameras allowed me to learn by trial and error. Something for that film cameras, respectively the films of the cameras were much too expensive.

Some years later, I started with art nude photography. It was a nice hobby and I became better and better. I also had two photo exhibitions and it was a nice time. Unfortunately photographer was a restricted job at that time in my home country. The first years of the century was a time, when the internet was full of young and educated people. You could have been sure that your grandparents etc. were not able to find your photos in the internet because of the simple fact that people above 50 didn't have access to the internet at that time.

But times changed around 2010. On the one hand the quality level rose and I saw that fulfilling my steadily growing demands to myself were only possible to fulfill when I spend a whole month's salary or more on a photoshoot, buy even more expensive equipment, pay for more professional models, make up artists, assistants, locations etc. Not only that I didn't have the money, I also had limited possibilities to earn money with my photos.

At the same time, the smartphone was invented. Now all people who didn't have access to the internet so far, suddenly were able to find you (and your models) in the internet. In addition, tattoos became increasingly popular. Don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against your tattoos. But as I photographer I wanted to focus on my model and the location and not of a third persons (namely the tattooists) artwork. I want photos to be my creation, or better the creation of the photographer and the model, and not just the documentation of the creation of the tattooist.

The fourth and most important change in my life and also in my "career" as photographer was that I got a girlfriend that now is my wife and that we became parents.

So, I stopped my hobby as art nude photographer.

During the year 2020 I had to stay home for some months (I guess you know why) and started to experiment with Daz 3D. Creating at that time already quite realistic photos with CGI was fun, but I had to realized that my personal computer, especially the graphics card, was much too slow for that.

In 2023, suddenly everyone was talking about artificial intelligence. As almost everyone I subscribed to ChatGPT, asked for funny things and received funny answers.

The first popular text-to-image application midjourney was quite difficult because you had to access it via Discord. (I know it was not the first application, but the first one mass media wrote about.)

I started to intensify my experience when special websites were created, that offered text-to-image image generators using the Stable Diffusion model. Although I tried several of them I now mainly use Stable Diffusion Online. First of all it is free and without registration, second it is almost unrestricted concerning the prompts (your input). Of course, that doesn't mean that you are allowed to create illegal images. Third, I really like the images generated. Most of the time I use the "sai-photographic" style, which is quite realistic, but not too realistic and very good for creating "glamorous" photos.

I really love experimenting with my prompts. I know that the images are not my "artwork" and must be considered as public domain. But the prompts are my artwork, it is nice to learn how to use them to get results that are near to what your intention was.

In my Hive Blog you will by the time find more and more images I created, "not safe for work" (nsfw) images as well. It would be nice when you follow me, tell me in the comments what you think about the images etc. It would be also nice to get to know other people who are experimenting with text-to-image generators, but please do not get into contact with me if you are creating illegal or semi-illegal things like erotic mangas of minors.
