Hi everyone,
As some of you already know, I’ve been a member here for just about a month now. There is a couple of reasons I have waited this long before writing my introduction post, the main one being that I really wasn’t sure if I was going to stay or not. Well, the fact that I’m now writing my introduction post is answer enough I think, yes I’m staying, because I love it here.
So I’ve never written an introduction post anywhere before so forgive me if it’s not what you expected. I’m not going to tell you my age because that’s not polite for a woman to do that sort of thing. I was born in Indiana and remained in that state my whole life, I haven’t visited anywhere or even seen the coast. My husband on the other hand, has been to lots of different countries, in fact, he’s originally from the United Kingdom.
I love to write, watch movies, especially tearjerkers, although I’m also prone to watch scary movies, as long as hubby is watching too, lol. I also love to play casinos off and online, but only when I have some spare cash, which isn’t very often. I only ever play what I can afford to lose, the same with cryptocurrencies. I met my husband online originally, which was met with a wide variety of criticism as well as congratulations, that was 18 years ago now.
It’s odd how peoples attitudes change over time, when I first told people I met him online most of the first reactions were “do you know what you’re doing?” or “he could be an axe murderer”. However, since we’ve been married now for 16 years I think I can safely assume he is not an axe murderer, or he’s certainly taking his time about it.
18 years on, when I tell people we met online, the whole attitude has changed, you get responses like “that’s so cool” or “that is so romantic”. It’s almost like the change in people’s attitude toward cryptocurrencies, at first people thought it was a joke, or an online fad that will eventually pass, yet now many are wishing they had jumped on when they had the chance.
I own two lovely German Shepherd Dogs as many of you will know through the posts I make, and have always owned dogs throughout my adult life, I just love them to bits. I love the idea of making money online, even though I haven’t done too well up to now, I still live in hope. Joining steem-it I think was a good decision, because even though I’m not a crypto guru I see this becoming very big in the future.
For some reason people love new social media platforms, they just jump on them as soon as they hear about them. Facebook, twitter and many others, it seems there can never be too many social media platforms, and if history is anything to go by, steem-it will be as big as the rest sooner or later. In fact, steem-it has an advantage over all the others, you can actually make money just doing what you love, I think that is just fantastic. Moreover, the last I heard facebook was worth over $1billion, be nice if steem-it overtakes facebook, well worth it, and we all got in early, how cool is that?
So far, apart from the odd spammer, I have only met very nice people here, and even though it’s early days, I can tell that this is a wonderful community, full of people willing to help others and I especially like that, you don’t see that in many places online or offline. Well I’m not going to turn this into a book, because my introductory post will likely disappear before anyone actually sees it, which brings me to the second reason I decided to write my introductory post now, steem-it poker.
I found a post the other day where you can play in poker freerolls and have a chance at winning some steem, how cool is that. Yes, I love playing poker too, even though I’m not that good at it but I’m getting better. The most I ever won in a poker tournament was $400 and I was jumping around all over the place, it was just the best feeling, an achievement. I hope to be able to do the same and cash out with my ripple and steem one day. Anyway I’m going to finish this off now, I want to thank all of you that take the time to comment on my posts, I know they are varied and not everyone’s kind of thing, and that is okay too. Looking forward to meeting more of you and reading and upvoting your posts, feel free to follow me and I will check your posts out. That’s me and my introductory post, thanks for reading.

Welcome Liz, crazy how you won the biggest @spl tourney ever to date. I will be doing a post from the earlier game when your AA and KK were cracked. I felt a little bad but we know that's how the game goes sometimes. You just made all the right moves to come back to the next game and take it down. Well done
Thank you potplucker for the welcome, I really am enjoying being in this entire community, and finding the poker room now has made it even more awesome.
That said, Yes, I typically have had the AA and KK cracked a lot, when playing them especially with online poker, but as you said that is how the game goes, so don't feel too bad about it, it happens more than I like :).
I still enjoy playing poker overall, and yes I agree that I even shocked myself by taking first place in the womens tourney tonight, and that was actually my first time visiting the site too, but I will be playing there alot more that is for certain!!
I look forward to reading your post on this tourney, and will be watching out for it. Thanks again!!
