First post of a Light Painting Artist
I am Sven Gerard from Berlin. I am 52 years old. I have been a light painting artist for almost 10 years now. My second great passion is exploring and photographing abandoned places.
Here is a little insight into my work using this picture as an example.
I took this picture in a single exposure. It has not been processed on the computer. The picture was taken with the 📷 Nikon D300s and the Tokina 12-24 mm lens at 12 mm focal length. The ISO value was 100, the exposure time 433 seconds.
First I attached a cordless screwdriver with an acrylic tube behind me. I had stuck various colour filter foils on the tube and attached a torch to one side. In the room I had distributed 4 RGB lamps to illuminate the room. For the lines on the floor I had attached green EL-Wire. Because I only had one green EL-Wire, I was forced to take the lines one after the other. That is why the exposure time is so long.
I built the mask myself. This was also illuminated with EL-Wire. The lightsaber is a rod made of acrylic glass illuminated by another torch. When everything was set up, all I had to do was stand in the right position and press the remote trigger with my teeth. 😁
Before I took the final picture, I took several test shots to adjust the rotation speed of the tool to the strobe frequency of the torch. I also experimented with different colours for the illumination. The total effort for the image, including building all the tools, was about 20 hours.

Hello Sven,
Welcome to the Hive Blockchain and especially welcome to the LightPainters community here. Some of your friends are already here. You may want to connect to them and vise versa.
To all LightPainters here; Let us support each other here.
LightPainters on Hive lets help each other: @fastchrisuk @fadetoblack, @stepko, @rod.evans.visual, @neilru75, @yo-hoho, @photowanze, @lightcaptured, @oddballgraphics, @martbarras, @sam1965uk & @syltography
Thanks
Just for the record @gunnarheilmann, I'm not a member of LightPainters, which has no community here but only an account that you own. I never understood how LightPainters could help me in any way and it looks like an empty shell for me, from the early days to now.
I offered you to join in but you declined.I'm a member of the Lightpainters United community, which is a real one : https://peakd.com/c/hive-108913
I don't know what you mean by saying "LightPainters on Hive lets help each other" because you never offered your help here buddy, you only make you own path, on your own. Reposting our content doesn't make you a "helper".
You could create a LP community on Hive but you didn't until now. Maybe it's something you'll do in a close future, maybe not...
My two cents.
"LightPainters on Hive lets help each other" ?!?
That's ridiculous @gunnarheilmann. You have always gone your own way in your own interest and then you say something like this.
Already in 2019 some lightpainters got together here to build a platform for lightpainters on Hive as "Lightpainter United" and you decided to go your own way. None of the lightpainters you mentioned are part of your so called "Community". Just because you repost the pictures of other lightpainters does not mean that we are members of your intigrant "lightpainters" profile.
What have you done so far that you think you are helping? You have your own website with a large reach to other lightpainters worldwide and you haven't even mentioned your activities on Hive at all although you are active here for a long time. No article. Nothing! And why not? Because you like to be in a central position of power. Promote Hive on your site. Then you can call yourself a helper, but with the way you are going you are just someone who wants to take a slice of the bread with copy and paste and only wants to create advantages for himself.
I'm a member of the Lightpainters United community, which is a real one : https://peakd.com/c/hive-108913

A community that aims to highlight the outstanding art of light painting at the Hive Blockchain.
In the spirit of further decentralization, I say thank you to all active light painters.
By the way. Welcome @lichtkunstfoto
Hallo Sven, herzlich willkommen in der Hive-Welt 😁
Dankeschön 😊
Nice to meet you here. Finally.
As with all new lightpainters on Hive, I've delegated 2500 HIVE to your wallet to give you a better start. You'll get attention faster and you'll have more Hive power to pass some HIVE from the pool to the other active lightpainters. Just with a thumbs up. In addition, it is for me a small value protection because by the percentage share of your activities is my pool rather deflationary than inflationary. A nice algorithm from Hive and very beneficial for both of us. ;-)
I'm a member of the Lightpainters United Community and you are welcome to join us here: https://peakd.com/c/hive-108913
HAPPY HIVE-ING!
You have to work hard to create a picture. I appreciate your workmanship
Happy to see you here. I have the feeling I am not the only one happy to see and support you here. AWESOME!
Dankeschön 😊
Welcome abroad @lichtkunstfoto :)
Thanks 😊
Welcome to Hive Sven! Great work!
Thanks
He is one of the good ones! Many times we go out together at night for Light Painting. What I love about him is that he shares his knowledge with the world. He is one to watch in the next months to come!
Cheers to Sven - so happy that two years of convincing finally pay off. In the literal meaning also for him. 😎
I'm always super happy about seeing new photographers on Hive and even more happier when it's such a talented one! :))

Wow, I love your photos and how you edit them, all the lights I think it's perfect
Thanks 😊 I don't edit my photos. All is done with moving lights in front of the camera.
Oh well, AMAZING! I love it
