I wasn't so sure what to write to introduce myself.
It has been more than 10 years since I wrote something to share with public.
I grew up in South Korea as an ordinary girl who wasn't too happy and felt lost.
One day I decided to travel to Australia by myself and see what's out there.
Since then I l'm living in Sydney with my beautiful husband and two girls :)
Moving From Korea To Australia
It has been a journey since I could't speak English well and had no friends to get help from (or share a downside of living in a foreign country).
I went through a pretty tough time learning to speak and living a new culture.
I was only young and I used to worry so much even If I had to order a cup of coffee (which is ridiculous who gives a shit if I sounded like an idiot).
I had a job as an hairdresser in a crazy busy salon and I was quite successful in there, but it could't fulfil my needs and in the meantime it was my wish to have kids, so I did.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Pregnancy was hard with morning sickness, heart burn, constipation - any symptoms you read on internet I had them all.
But in the end she did come out after a many freaking crazy labour hours ( I won't mention all the details).
I did a natural birth with no complications and as soon as I saw her, of course I fell in love with her and I would do anything for her.
I breastfed her for 14 month (she weaned herself which made me quiet sad) on my own and very proud of myself.
I just knew whatever happens that was the one thing I will do, breastfeeding.
The best gift you can ever give to your kids.
Same with my second born baby girl, natural birth and still breastfeeding.
I find lots of mums give up on breastfeeding in early days after delivery.
Lack of knowledge and misinformation which was given from doctors, nurses or friends, made them to give up to do what we were supposed to do - or they are simply did not have enough strength and support.
I believe the power of mother nature would be in every mother. I am not a super woman and if I did it, they can do it too or at least give your everything to try if you really want the shit done.
On the other hand there are other mothers who want to do it but fail due to complicated birth or babies losing too much weight due to low supplies. Then they have no choice but to give them formulas and that's ok because that's the best thing for them and they should not feel guilty doing so and just focus on looking after the baby and enjoy motherhood.
I used to love laying around on a beach, hang with my boyfriend (my current husband), clubbing late at night drinking tequila, sleep in every weekend and catching up with friends.
Well, it's all gone like a dream. Then I desperately tried to reconnect with my old life, but it just didn't work out.
The more I wanted the more I got depressed.
Helping Others
I would love to help more mothers to be able to breastfeed and give their kids healthy meals.
It is not the worst thing to go through (definitely not!!) and we just need to look at our life a little differently with a bit of the right help (this is quite important for new mothers).
I felt like I was born to be a mother (my old friends don't believe it and I don't see them anymore) when I became a mother. Even my mum was so stunned how I was so good at handling a new born. I'm not trying to brag how I'm perfect at mothering (no one is perfect), I was just good at choosing right advises, constantly studying about babies and reading right materials.
I would love to share my story and help new mums to be.
One more thing, we are moving to Canberra so I will be posting on travelling around too.
