Hi Steemit, welcome to my world. I want to start off here to show you who I am and what some of my passions are. I am from Canada, I love dogs, I love to travel, music, hiking, camping, foods of all types, movies, the ocean, paddle boarding, I am fan of Bitcoin, Ethereum and other crypto coins. I really love all shows and movies with Zombies in them. I often wonder what life would be like if that really happened. I picture myself in my car, cruising through the grocery store grabbing what's on my list, just like in the Last Man on Earth!!! Walking Dead, Z Nation and iZombie are among many of my favorite ways to pass a rainy day in bed:)
As I mentioned I really love to camp and I purchased two BioLite camping stoves (this is not a sponsor for the company, just one of my many passions). For those of you who may not of heard of this amazing company they started on kick starter and they developed a breakthrough technology that through a market-based approach, has empowered people to power themselves. These great little stoves burn wood as cleanly as gas. They require 50% less fuel then a conventional open fire and they cut CO2e emissions by 2.5 tons a year. They are compact, easy to carry and so much fun to use!! I use wood pellets in mine as they burn very clean and are convenient, but you can also use twigs, sticks, fat wood, but in some parks are you not allowed to pick up dead fall, so the pellets are my easy go to solution.
In the picture below the stove on the left was my first stove. It changes heat into energy, charges it's own battery and when the light turns green it's ready to power a light, or your phone. The stove on the right recharges with the solar panel, or via the stove on the left. This one has four speeds and is quieter.
The stove will fit in the kettle below for super easy travel. Cooking is easy the food tastes great!!!
When I use these stoves I love what they do and what they stand for. Check out these stats: Three billion people cook on smokey open wood fires. Four million people die annually from these fires - thats more then Aids, TB and Malaria combined. Women spend 10 hours per week collecting fuel. Cooking fires admit more smoke into the atmosphere then all the cars and trucks in the world, combined.
So when you purchase from the BioLite Shop, they reinvest a portion of that sale back into the process and this helps them bring energy everywhere. AMAZING!!
I really do love life and all it has to offer. Camping is but one of the many ways I enjoy life everyday. Baking is another one. I mean who doesn't love cupcakes!!

Welcome, and thanks for the post! One question though, could you tell me a little more about the 4 million who die from cooking fires? That seems pretty high. I grill out a lot.
Hi, many developing nations heat their homes, or cook this way. During my research one of the articles I read was from the WHO and it stated that over 4 million people die prematurely from illness attributable to the household air pollution from cooking with solid fuels like wood, charcoal or coal.
