As you start out, it's a good idea to scan through the various tags / topics to find those that you like and those that you might want to post on.
When you find an interesting post, you might want to upvote or comment on it. That way, you can not only engage in the community, but also attract followers to your blog. And that will get you off to a good start on Steemit.
