When I lived in Singapore, I was able to visit Indonesia 3 times (Gili Meno, Gili Trawangan, and North Sumatra). I can assure you (@puravidaville) that Indonesians are generally much happier and more contented than North Americans (including Canadians such as myself).
It's always a pleasure to travel in any part of Indonesia (except for Jakarta, maybe).
why with jakarta? @majes.tytyty
why you do not like jakarta. I've lived in jakarta and it looks good its people are friendly too friendly just sometimes a bit stuck on the road;) @majes.tytyty
Thanks for your replies, and I will clarify. I did not say that the people of Jakarta are not pleasant. I've met many Jakartans, and they are as wonderful and as pleasant as any other Indonesian.
The only thing I implied is that Jakarta, the city itself, is not the most pleasant place. Even my friends who live there tell me that it's not a great place to live nor a good place to visit. They tell me that it's crowded and noisy and chaotic, and anyone who visits will be stuck in a traffic jam.
In fact, just last year, I told my Indonesian friend (who was born and raised in Jakarta) that I might spend a weekend in that city. She advised me NOT to go there, and told me that I'd have a better trip if I went anywhere else in Indonesia.
Jakarta probably has its attractions, and people who live there might like it.
To repeat, ... I simply meant to say that it might not be "a pleasure" to travel in that city.
I hope that clarifies.
owh I understand what you mean,
In Indonesia many places are very beautiful
