RE: Jumping on board Steemit

I see your point. I'm a writer, but not much of a photographer. ☺ But I take lots of photos, throw out many lousy ones, then work with the good photos to make a decent post.

And as a writer / editor, I can say that your writing is definitely not bad. So, just spend a bit of time and effort (as all good writers do), and your writing will be fine enough.

One more point. Submitting photos in the various photo contests is a great way to earn a bit of Steem and to attract followers. Here are links to 3 contests.

@photocontests, organized by @juliank
Daily color challenges, organized by @colorchallenge
#tepchallenge, organized by @theexplorer

For entries into those photo contests, short posts are OK. But it's a good idea to add a bit of text explaining the photo, to give the post some meat and to make it more interesting.

I am glad to hear it is not bad. Lol It does not feel great to me. I grew up with a family of writers and English majors, where I make up words to fit what I am feeling. I had heard about the photo contests from my friend Melinda but having these links here help a ton. Thank you so much for these!
